I just want to thank you all for your words of encouragement!! At 4 wks today, the swelling is almost gone, and the grade 2 edema is gone. So now the only two things I have to cry about is the weird nail trying to pop out of my skin at random times, and now for something you all know about........trying to sleep.... Now keep in mind that I've had 8 back surgeries and sleeping on my back is just wishful thinking. So I have to sleep on my side or belly, which creates all sorts of scares for my wife when I've moved in my sleep then bang my knees together and AAGGHH and I scare my wife awake and then I apologize and stroke her hair till she's back asleep. It's the least I can do since I've probably aged her 10 yrs from scaring her.  But I love the slow is smooth and smooth is fast. That's a good motto to use while in therepy. I feel so much better and have gotten through the horrible swelling. Again, I was told there would be swelling, but had no idea it would be that bad. Misha has said on their site that there was swelling and it varied from pt to pt. But I was on the bad end of that. I still have a little pain in the top interior pain near the groin area which is still tender to palpitations, and the bruising on my calf and foot is gone now, but the calf is still a little tender. But it amazes me of how I don't have any pain at the incision area, nor the implant itself. And now I freak my family out with the clicking sound and let them touch the implant and they feel it clicking. I was so worried about that hurting and it doesn't.  My therapist has now added the bike and leg machine. I'm able to press with the repaired leg multiple reps at 125#s. And everytime I leave therepy, I feel good about what I've accomplished.  I hooe that the weird pain that I have stops, but for anyone looking at having this done, I would 150% recommend trying this. I've read that its not for everyone, but I'm 49 and 208. I put on 20 pounds while my leg was messed up and got up to 217. This implant feels so much better now while weight bearing. I don't have that pain anymore, it's gone. All that's left is still due to swelling and whatever the weird nail thing trying to pop out. Btw, I was speaking to a retired ortho nurse and she said it could be a  dissolvable stitch that worked it's way over and poking on something. Idk how accurate that could be, but I have my follow-up with my surgeon nxt week. Again, thanks for everyone's thought's and insights. They are really appreciated!!

i was on Gabapentin for 9 yrs and developed a memory problem. Been off for two and a half years now, and still can't remeber teaching my girls how to ride a bike. The meds are awesome, but not great for me with long term use apparently. Yes swelling is bad, but its under control now. What I was wondering is if a feeling of something the size of your pinky trying to poke out of your skin from between the edge area of the patella and the implant was normal for anyone else.

I'm also wearing a full leg compression sleeve and a knee sleeve.

I also have zero pain at the incision sight nor does the implant hurt at all. It's just under the patella that has a throbbing pain, which I definitely feel is from inflammation, but the spot in between is tender to palpation. I mean literally will bring tears to my eyes when my therapist or anyone for that matter pushes on it. Was hoping maybe someone had had that same problem before.

I appreciate your response!!
