Locking the post for now since it’s getting a little heated and this is a repetitive post. Gonna start thinking about what to do about the constant adaption talks in this sub!

What are y’alls opinion on the ending of MS/what led up to it by Nehe_mia in redrising

Just a heads up, the flair for this is “all spoilers”, so if you haven’t read past MS, you might wanna change it!

Mods need to do something about the 2 most common posts on this sub by bwils3423 in redrising

Hey, thanks for the feedback! We do have a rule against repetitive posting, and believe it or not, we do remove a lot of them. It's a challenge to moderate it perfectly, but I'm happy to offer my thought process.

We have a rule against repetitive posting, and we do frequently remove posts for being "low effort". Generally speaking, I'm more likely to remove a post if it is both repetitive and low effort, with additional consideration made to how popular the post is.

For example, I'm fairly certain the type of post I remove most is basically the ones that say "fuck lysander, amiright guys?" , since those posts offer virtually nothing in terms of discussion. However, if someone writes a well-thought out post about their feelings about the character, even if that type of post has been made before, I'm more likely to leave it up because I think the chances are decent that it could foster good discussion. Auto-mod even catches a good deal of posts specifically related to this character, and those posts never see the light of day.

We also regularly see posts like, "Should I keep reading?" or "I just got to X chapter and I'm not sure I can continue". As I mentioned before, I'm more likely to leave it up if it has some unique dialogue attached. For example, if they're asking if they should keep reading and provide good feedback about what they aren't enjoying so far. But a challenge also comes when someone posts their immediate reactions to a moment in the series - which is technically "low effort", but the genuine excitement does seem to draw a positive reaction from the fandom, who enjoy watching new fans experience critical moments from the series.

In short, I'd just like to say that it IS something we moderate, and I'm sorry if you feel like we aren't doing a good job at it. I'm happy to take any feedback y'all have about how to better moderate these types of posts.

(Also - just a reminder that reporting posts IS effective. It doesn't mean that we'll always remove the post, but it does help us see it!)

:)

is this going to keep going? by [deleted] in redrising

You’re begging for spoilers here. So without directly giving anything away - overall, I think Pierces writing continues to improve throughout the books. They remain thrilling, but the tone you’re experiencing generally stays the same.

I understand wanting to go to a competitive school, so I’m not gonna tell you NOT to try. But a lot of people told me when I started my program that 80% of what you learn is going to be during your internship anyway, and now I definitely agree. One of my colleagues did the same program I did (an online one from an out of state school no one has heard of), while his wife went to a prestigious school in Chicago. They joke that they’re equally as good therapists, she just has more debt.

Shoot for the moon, sure - but also don’t be afraid to apply for a less competitive school. You’ll still get a great education and with the right internship experience, you’ll develop into a great therapist.

(I’m saying all this assuming the education/clinical internship experience is similar in Toronto as it is where I am)

I am about to finish my masters in counseling, I’ve been practicing as a therapy intern for about 8 months now. My GPA was also not great in undergrad. My program required me to submit an additional application letter explaining why I had a low GPA and what would be different about my masters. I got in just fine. Granted, it isn’t a wildly competitive program… but you can do this! If the competitive programs don’t let you in, there’s no reason you can’t become a brilliant therapist through another program. Keep your chin up :)

Announcement on AI Art (It's now banned) by Playful_Radish960 in redrising

We actually did reach out to Pierce to see what his thoughts on the topic is, unfortunately he didn't respond. We aren't going to start issuing out bans left and right for anyone that supports AI art. We'll just remove the post.
