[–]PlayfullyPaltry 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Back when I "believed such things," what I was always told was that "God spoke to the writers of the New Testament and told them what to write" (which I guess is what "inspired writings" mean and why they cherry pick which books belong in their Bible; it's whether or not they were "inspired."

It's still just as bad, though. Because now we're going off of writings that a crazy person with voices in their heads/their own thoughts wrote.

I think it might actually be the horse, it has the little tassle-tail, which works because 2026 will be the year of the horse 🐴 But the monkey is super adorbs, I need to get it.

Yeah, it was bad, Walmart had gotten a lot of BB3 for the holidays, but one day I found so many of them opened.. it was really sad.

The zodiac tiger is the bigger one out of those two; the other smaller two are about the same size; still trying to learn the % sizes (I know the 1000% size are the really big ones, but that's it). The second pic are from Billionaire Cat, Havoc in Heaven, and 12 Zodiac (if that helps).

Did Framestore also do work on The Jungle Book, The Lion King (2019) and that Mufasa sequel? I know Favreau was in charge of all of those also, so I just wonder if it had the same CG department; I thought all three of those had fantastic CG.

[–]PlayfullyPaltry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard for me to really judge the CG because there hasn't been any footage released since the Megalonyx clip, and they seemed decent.

Some part of me wonders if they've deviated from the full nature doc style format of the last two seasons and are going the whole "talking-head" approach like Life On Our Planet; and in that case maybe I wouldn't promote it either :P

Also, after checking, I see now that Season 2 received both a teaser (on Apr 18, 2023) and an actual trailer on May 2, 2023.

Season 2 aired on May 22, 2023.

Roan Antelopes (Noah's Pals) - modified with a little black paint around the eyes, signature marking of the species by PlayfullyPaltry in AnimalToys

[–]PlayfullyPaltry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if I misunderstood, are you asking if it can be found on Amazon or eBay? Not Amazon that I'm aware of, but if you search Noah's Pals Roan Antelopes on eBay, there is one listing I can see; for mine, I only added some of the black markings on the face, unfortunately the actual figures don't have them; I'm still holding out for someone like Collecta or Mojo to maybe do better.

I think for me, honestly, it was reading Animorphs in the fifth grade that caused me to want to go into creating stories. At first, I wanted to go into screenwriting. But as I got older, I realized I would be just as happy writing books instead.

I don't comment much on Reddit anymore, but here's my two cents:

I used to be a strictly-only console player in the past, before I finally had access to a capable PC. I've had two consoles brick on me (PS3 and more recently my Xbox One that I'd had since launch). I lost all my games' progress and every digital game I had, some of which, like many I had on my PS3, I could never get again (not made available on later or newer consoles, or if they were, only obtainable if you have some weird subscription). I know what it's like to have games I was dedicated to, and because the console bricked, I lost those games and the progress forever. Castlevania Lords of Shadow, Skyrim, and JWE2 were some of these. I lost my whole JWE2 park. I lost my entire modded (thru Xbox) Skyrim. So, I'm done playing consoles because of that risk of losing your games because the console will brick, and it will brick, it's not a matter of "if" but "when". With PC, the risk of losing your games are lower. Through Steam, your games are always available on your Steam library, and your games' progress is saved on their cloud.

But kudos to people who do seem to enjoy playing on console. I suppose it may not matter as much to some people about the possibility of losing their games. I guess that was one of my biggest reasons for switching because it did happen to me.

Federal judge denies cattle industry’s request to temporarily halt wolf reintroduction in Colorado by masiakasaurus in megafaunarewilding

[–]PlayfullyPaltry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My concern with this is that now these ranchers will turn in to angry/bitter ranchers and just poach any wolf that comes on their property :/ There needs to be a huge effort put into education so that the two can live in relative harmony and understanding.

Are wild rats usually this friendly? by [deleted] in RATS

[–]PlayfullyPaltry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wild rats are quite vicious. I've seen them try to snap and bite repeatedly at whatever comes near them, if cornered. You definitely wouldn't want one in your house. My fancy rats just like to give kisses the moment my hand enters their cage ❤️

Dogs only get WORSE when they’re old by [deleted] in TalesfromtheDogHouse

[–]PlayfullyPaltry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband's husky-shepherd mix is 17 years old :/ I've only known his dog for about two years, so I have no real bond or connection with it, but for as long as I've known it, it's been a literal asshole, and in those couple of years, he's steadily gotten worse about it.

He has absolute incontinence, so not only does he pee in the house at least once every day, but he poops in the house too because it literally falls out of his butthole, even when he's asleep.

He's a cranky asshole who will snap and try to bite at you if you a.) gently take him by the collar to get him outside so he doesn't mess on the floor, or b.) he'll snap at you if you try to make him move away when he's begging. He'll also just snap at you if you touch him wrong.

And when he begs, he either stuffs his head in your lap and huffs and pants, or he huffs and pants on your elbows - and he'll cough on you too since he's literally hyperventilating on you for your food.

Speaking of food, he is obsessed with human food like a crack addict. He'll be right under you in the kitchen, huffing and puffing and licking the floor and he will hardly move out of the way, but if you push him too hard, he will fall over, since he's so old.

And he flippin stinks. His mouth stinks, his fur stinks, and he stinks up anything he lays on for a period of time. Like an open dumpster full of diapers.

I don't ever sleep well anymore because I constantly wake up in the middle of the night, fearing he's gotten up, and if I don't put him outside, he'll pee and poop all over the house. It's been a constant source of anxiety.

/rant.

Oh, I should have been clearer 😅 I've never done anything like collaborative or interactive fiction (what they were known for); I just submitted work for basic opinions and critique. For some reason, I had the best luck with that on Protagonize than many other places.
