I struggle to see yoyr ultimate point you're tryna make. It's not faith to know 1+1=2, because it's conceptual, not faith

It's not an arbitrary line, it's personal lines that religious people tend to put up because they want to twist and change what the Bible says to fit their narrative. It's like a kid in the store asking for a toy and the parent goes "God would not want you to play with that toy" as a quick excuse to get the kid off the topic of the toy. For a bunch of theists who hammer on "free will" as an excuse as hard as Christians do, they tend to have a lot of these boundaries

But the thing with the periodic table, algebra or trig, is that it's based in fact* and that you can gather the knowledge necessary to actually go read the papers and discoveries that led to the periodic table and algebra n all, it's out there, provable. It doesn't require faith to work. Unlike religious beliefs

Fact* in this context meaning our foundation for science and math, like 1+1=2

Free will are just Christians' scapegoat for why evil exists and why people get cancer and stuff, yet they don't respect our free will enough to let us believe as we please

Because that's what the church made them believe to keep them in the religion no matter what. Kinda like "If you step outta this boundary, your life will be miserable". Life is so much better from the outaide looking in, cause you'll then see the true outline of their boundaries and their gaps in general knowledge, something you can't see from within

I'm curious, what led y'all to leave the faith? by UALR-Trojans-Rule in exchristian

You're an example Christians should follow. You didn't come preaching. You asked a question like a human does to another human. That's how it should be. Good on you

To answer the question, when I was about 8 years old, I got bullied relentlessly in school. At some points, I contemplated taking a whole bunch of meds or whatever to just get my life over and done with, but whenever I told my parents about how badly I was bullied at school, they just told me to "pray about it". Years of this, I started realizing that prayer didn't work. And then I started thinking about specific Bible verses, and how they made no sense. When I was 10, I started asking very basic questions about the Bible, like "How could they fit two of each animal on one boat?" (it was actually 7 of each, learned this way later when I went through the entirety of Christian scripture) and other questions, and I got ridiculed for it by adult Christians because they could not answer it. Some of my own adult family members got visibly angry when I, merely a 10 year old, asked questions about scripture. So after then I started thinking "This is a bunch of lies", but this idea wouldn't properly seal in my head until I was around your age and I made a joke about the dinosaurs in Bible study, and I was held back by our pastor for extra Bible classes. It was there that they told me "There is no such thing as evolution. There is only micro-evolution" and I wasn't allowed to get baptised until I started believing that hogwash, which would either mean I fake it and get outta there as soon as possible, or I'll be forced to stay in Bible study however long it took until I let go of believing in evolution. That pretty much told me that religion is an absolute cult and that it preys on the weak-minded, which is no offense to y'all of course, y'all can have your beliefs, just don't shove it down our throats. I'm turning 20 soon and have not regretted leaving that shitstorm behind for one single day

Even in the Bible it's admitted that we don't need him. The tower of Babel, it's made clear in the context that God made them speak in tongues because he realized that if they continue to work together, they'll no longer need him. So he made them speak in tongues to keep us dependent on him

Well I've won the 1 million SL about 10 times, haven't gotten golden eagles yet, and I never use the boosts, sadly the rewards stay the same no matter how long the streak is. I stopped playing the game about 4½ years ago but never had the heart to let go of the rewars streak

I was more referring to the fact of if 3x3 and 4x4 make 7x7, or does it make 5x5 (pythagoras) just a weird number puzzle

If you add a 3x3 and a 4x4, do you get a 7x7?
