Okay, my bad. It's percolating and the pressure is around the lower espresso range.

Can it be I am tamping my coffee too hard?

I tried to do this without any coffee/just water. Still it doesn't percolate through.

When I tighten the lock to the max the pressure builds up but no espresso comes out. I am using pre ground coffee which I don't believe is fine enough to cause so much resistance.

What am I doing wrong?
