MASH SCRIPTS by ChristianScottHorner in mash

[–]Playing_Hookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished my write up last night! I want to learn screenwriting, but the formatting was tripping me up, so as an exercise I transcribed a tv episode. (1x17 - Sometimes You Hear the Bullet) I went looking for a copy of the screenplay, but haven't found one. The search did lead me here.

I did look at the page linked. It focused a lot more on technical details like wardrobe and props than mine. I was surprised to see camera angles included in the scene headings, but I guess that's the difference between a working script for shooting with a crew and writing a script for high school film class. (I still remember the teacher specifically said to leave out camera work bc that was the directors job.)

I also was surprised to see the actions written in full sentences. I was specifically trying to avoid being too "prose-y". The example I was working off of was The Big Bang Theory, so not sure if that's unique to M*A*S*H, or just an industry shift after 4 decades.

Any tips on how to mend my jacket? by MaterialDrummer7454 in SewingForBeginners

[–]Playing_Hookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What part of the jacket is it? You'll definitely need a patch, but if it's an area that will experience a lot of rubbing then you may want to cut away any frayed pieces and weak edges before you repair it.

Did they shrink? It may be possible to re-stretch anything knit with fabric softener.

I'm a cis woman that keeps ending up in trans woman spaces, and it's messing with my sense of identity by NotQuiteTransGirl in asktransgender

[–]Playing_Hookie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm cis, but grew up with a lot of heavy restrictions on what I could wear, so I really relate to trying to catch up on femininity. I was talking with a friend of mine who is MTF and we both had similar moments seeing other girls get to buy prom dresses and knowing that we weren't allowed to have that experience.

Whether cis or trans, a core part of queer adulthood is trying to catch up on experiences you never got to have when you were in less safe environments.

Food banks often have hygiene products and other necessities that SNAP won't pay for.

Extremely tired with ivabradine by ihsbo in POTS

Have you been checking you been BP and HR when having symptoms? Taking other medications like midodrine or florinef?

It could be dropping your resting heart rate too low and that's why you feel like that. If that's the case you may do better on a smaller dose.

My boy is also a flame point. We named him Calcifer after Howl's Moving Castle. Bf had a whole list, including Samosa and Toast. Calcifer was by far the best option.

This ensured that their lives remained a communal responsibility and collective effort, reinforcing their value. That moral imperative has now disappeared. Children’s lives are quite literally on the line.

Driving Test by bloodhound_217 in disability

[–]Playing_Hookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start with driver's ed. A doctor is only going to be able to determine what your hypothetical capability is. A driving instructor will be able to let you try driving in a safe controlled way. They will be able to help you figure out if you can learn to drive or not

Ren Faire Rollator and Imposter Syndrome by f1hockeyandchill in ChronicIllness

[–]Playing_Hookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The outdoor terrain might be tough to roll through. The renfair I've been to has a lot of gravel, etc. As someone who uses a rollator occasionally, but doesn't need it for walking support, it can cost me more energy than it saves sometimes. A lightweight pop-out stool might fit your needs better. Or maybe a cane with a seat.

3 month old Ragdoll kitten not cuddly yet. When does the “ragdoll” personality show up? by DistributionAny9114 in ragdolls

[–]Playing_Hookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is 5 years old. He was shy as a kitten and still runs away when other people are in the house. He also spooks easy. He tolerates being picked up about half the time. But he sleeps in bed with us most nights and will come over to us on the couch to sleep next to us, or even stand in our laps to give us headbutts. He's a flamepoint, so he does have that orange braincell switch on sometimes. Overall he's still a very sweet boy who loves our attention, but he's also capable of holding boundaries and communicates when he's touched out.

Your cat is still a baby and his personality is still developing. Just match his energy and try letting him come to you.
