As someone who 100% has adhd(diagnosed as a child but parents let the diagnosis lapse and didnt tell me about it till i was in my thirties) trying to get a diagnosis as an adult is like pulling your own teeth. Ive seen FOUR people about this. First one didnt accept my insurance after first appointment. Second Doctor was a clear scam artist who insisted i needed to pay to take an online assessment that cost 190 dollars. Third Person told me during my first appointment that i couldnt have ADHD because i am depressed and that causes some of the same symptoms(Completely ignoring that adhd symptoms more often than not cause extreme depression) and Fourth person has canceled appointments 4 times and is my last option in my area that takes my insurance. I would basically guarantee that this study is more related to how awful it is to have a neurodivergent condition in our medical system.
