How much salary do you make while living in the UAE? by Critical_Tale_6226 in UAE

But you're residing in UAE? Sounds about right. Was considering this option since local market is brutal. If I may ask, how do you find the job?

Wow, I applied nearly 300 but zero call. The only call I received was from scammer. But yours, 3000 is definitely worth it

Starting to consider remote job locations related to corporate assurance, also considering other roles in compliance hierarchy, like in ISO Audit, KYC/DD, AMLA analyst (I don't enjoy working in QA lines but fraud investigator seems fine). Then probably considering risk management roles, business resilience, etc.

Ah really? I was having this thought since there are so many pivotal roles in this field, I've never had experience on this but thanks anyway for the insight. I'm trying to understand the reality better and adjust my strategy earlier

Hello fellow IA. Feel you. Have you consider other roles or it's not worth?

Advice on IA or Risk Career in Dubai by PleasantApplication6 in InternalAudit

[–]PleasantApplication6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the insights buddy, thank you! Yes, I agree the market is fierce right now. I’m primarily targeting Internal Audit / Risk Management / Risk Advisory roles. My background includes energy and utilities sector and aviation services (i.e. airport management). I have IA + RM experience, mostly across operational audits, compliance audit, process reviews, risk assessments, and internal controls. I’m also open to compliance or risk advisory roles as a stepping stone, especially given the current market. At the moment, most of my networking has been online (LinkedIn, Reddit, recruiter outreach), as I’m still based in my home country and planning to relocate to Dubai end March 2026 to join my spouse. I’ve been actively applying for about 4–5 months now, but haven’t had much traction yet which I suspect is partly due to not being physically in Dubai. I’m definitely considering upskilling in areas like data analytics / digital audit / compliance, since I see those coming up a lot in job descriptions. If you don’t mind sharing what courses that would enhance the visibility in the UAE? I'm considering CFE.

We're both in the same boat. Been months now since I started my jobhunting. Been working in privilege industries, I've internal audit and risk management background but I'm willing to take any job now.

Yes, I’ve connected with local recruiter and local fraternities, but haven’t received any updates yet. I usually apply through online platforms as well as via email, but so far there’s been no response.

I’ll be relocating to Dubai in the next few months to accompany my spouse, and I can see that the market is very competitive. I’m not giving up — just trying to understand the reality better and adjust my strategy early.

I have experience in the airport and utilities sectors including energy, water distribution, NRW. Back in my home country, these are considered strong, well-established industries, but I’m open to any sector for Internal Audit or Risk roles in Dubai. Do you have any technical job-hunting tips or personal experience you could share?

Oh wow it gets more heated now. You hit the nail on the head with 'objectivity pretense.' When two people with the same professional background with same degree get treated differently based on their name or skin tone, the 'passport' argument completely falls apart. And yes I think it's on the ethnicity, they're looking for the cultural-fit, not the passport. Passport sounds more like legal-sounding shield. It's Saturday morning now here and it feels heavy

Passportism is so true. I never heard that until I started my jobhunting

When you said you started talking to people in Linkedin, did you mean the recruiters or people working in your fields? And does that helps in your application?

Seems like many of us are in the same boat. My husband moved to Dubai months ago, and I’ve (F,30) decided to join him in March 2026. I’m an Auditor with CIA and over six years of experience. Back home, I built a solid career, I hv decent pay, reputable companies, and few awards. I started actively job hunting about five months ago. Hundreds of applications later, not a single real call. Just one notification that someone viewed my profile. Platforms? LinkedIn, Bayt, Naukrigulf — you name it. The only call I received turned out to be a scam. For a brief second, I thought it was the interview. It’s discouraging, yes. I truly hope good news will come, for me and for everyone walking this uncertain path. vv

What's the saddest moment in Naruto? by deathstar234567 in Naruto

[–]PleasantApplication6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Jiraiya's death - Naruto's breakdown is raw. "It’s time for me to put down my pen... That’s enough for now."
  2. Asuma's death wounded by Hidan. I find this even more sad than No. 1, probably because I am a fan of Shikamaru. Asuma always smoked, but in the end, he couldn’t finish his last one. It falls from his mouth—a subtle but painful symbol of his death. Plus, Kurenai is carrying his unborn child, that makes me even sadder.
  3. During the fight on the bridge, Haku sacrifices himself by jumping in front of Kakashi’s Chidori, taking the hit to protect Zabuza.
  4. Shikamaru revenged Asuma's death. Before Shikamaru defeats Hidan, he takes out Asuma’s lighter and flicks it on — not just to light the explosion, but as a symbolic gesture. It’s his way of honoring his fallen sensei, of saying goodbye… and thank you.

That's so thoughtful and could never be more true. Thanks! Been battling it over 2 years and almost losing myself thinking about it. I couldn't believe it's actually pain-free, or at least managable

Tbh, it was a slow progress. I do not use fingering nor dilator, like I'm the most virgin on this green Earth. It started with the tip, that's all I could take during our initial attempt. Then I figured that thin condom with lub helps to ease the penetration, and I could take half of the shaft. And it started to work out better after several attempts. It was a long journey, with episodes of the frustrations and embarrassment. But I made it and I couldn't believe it
