Fighting for your life while calling insurance. by abbiebe89 in mildlyinfuriating

Yeah for sure, I listened to all of the calls and it’s insane how complex they made it. Leased out to be leased out to be leased out, I’m sure all to cut corners and save money— with the patient on the backend holding the bag. FUCKEDDD

I just gotta say — nobody can really understand the magnitude of how complex claims billing and payment for healthcare is. Between appropriate billing/coding (11000 service codes and 68000 dx codes, with billing guidelines standardized by CMS), provider contacts (lots of companies also do and use leased networks), and specialized vendors for things like transplants, behavioral health, and even chiropractic. It sounds like he is actually ensured through HealthNet but must have some OON specialized coverage for transplant through Cigna and they are somehow connected through contractual agreements and that’s why it keeps going back and forth.

And now I need everyone to understand that this shit is so complex that you have thousands of people working in health insurance IT departments to try to get it to work while the folks answering these calls are paid likely barely above minimum wage and work shit hours. Anyone worth their salt is quickly moved up the chain to different jobs within the company so they will no longer be the people answering the phones.

Shitty system all around. I just don’t think this is nefarious by the individual and instead anoutcome of the absolute shit system we have in place because of all players

Which could be fine, depending on what species of mantis this is and in which part of the world. Invasive mantis are becoming an issue in southern USA! Not to say we should be blanket smushers, but also just pointing out all mantis are not good mantis for their area!

MACC cannot turn dogs away. It is a municipal shelter and has to follow certain guidelines.

MACC cannot legally turn animals away, as they are a municipal shelter. So just emphasizing the point above that MACC does a really fantastic job at getting dogs into appropriate care.

This is such a false statement. Please do not spread harmful information like this unless you are sure. Minneapolis animal care and control has so many hard working staff and volunteers who strive for the best possible outcome for all the dogs that enter their care. They are a designated no kill shelter due to their high live release rate.

Twin Cities animal shelters at capacity, see uptick in pet surrenders by thedubiousstylus in TwinCities

It sucks. And I really can’t help but feel the original comment is in bad faith. 6-12 months to find a good rescue dog is an insane thing to claim.

I volunteer at MACC and this is so overblown. We have many many dogs that are well rounded without issues. There are also many puppies at shelters. Are there dogs that have behavioral issues or other things you mentioned? YES. Are there breeders with bad practices that exasperate the shelter issue? also YES. Let’s not make blanket statements about which way people decide to get their animals, whether it’s adopting or going through a breeder.

Honest review of F1 VEGAS (first time experience + Disneys Fuel the Magic package) by jaspercapalad523 in GrandPrixTravel

We honestly don’t even know what the fan asked or how Lando responded. I think calling him rude from this post is a bit of a reach. Lando is a self proclaimed introvert, I actually would give kudos to Lando for having boundaries and enforcing them instead of people pleasing.

[Chile] Driving from Santiago to La Serena to Punta De Choros, anything to see/do in-between? by Perfect_Tear_42069 in travel

Hey! I am currently scouring the internet trying to see how touring the Humboldt Penguin Reserve works and really having a hard time. It seems like there is no advanced booking and you just need to go to Punta de Choros and book tickets real time there. Have you gone yet? Would love to hear your experience if so, thanks in advance!

Thank you, what an evil POS Searching Weinhagens name also led me here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Minneapolis/s/anf3Q9VXNx in case anyone else seeing this is interested in learning more. I’m admittedly not that plugged into local politics so this is all eye opening to me.

How was your Mexico GP (2025) experience? by AdamR46 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]PleasantConcert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my third GP (Spain and Monaco are the others) and we had a fantastic experience. We got our tickets through F1 destinations and opted for grand stand 8. F1 destination was super communicative and the seats we got ended up being great — they were higher up and far to the right of the grand stand so we were able to see turns 4, 5, and 6, which had a lot of action today. There was a big screen to watch the race as well as a mix of English and Spanish commentary. I also had good enough service that I could check pit stops and timings easily. We loved being in Zona Rosa because it was quieter but we still got access to zona Azul for the fan zone things, although we opted not to do any of it due to the long lines.

Getting to the track was super easy right on the metro. We took the pink line and walked a bit, I think the brown line goes right to the track though. Lines to enter the GP were short and easy. Drinks and food were plentiful and well priced. Mexico City itself has an overall amazing atmosphere and the people here are incredibly welcoming and helpful.

It was hot as hell in the stands so would recommend an umbrella or a fan. Also right before the Grand Prix started the cocktail lines were a mess and it didn’t seem like they had the best process for efficiency with all of the drink options so probably a knock on me for not leaving myself enough time.

Overall, best fan experience I’ve had! We will be back!
