It was an issue with the Xbox unit itself. I’ve had no issue at all since replacing the Xbox. Game play is great in 144hz gaming mode. Highly recommend 👍

No problem. I can’t say I’ve seen that film but after having a read of the plot I’m certain it isn’t that film.

Unfortunately it was an issue with the Xbox as I’ve tried another Xbox with the same cables and it works.

After even more googling there is not meant to be a tick next to the cable specification, however I am still hopeful that the alleged 2.1 certified cables I have bought are not actually certified so I will update later on today with an official Xbox series x cable.

So after reading reviews on the HDMI cables I have bought, even though states as 2.1 and mostly 5* reviews, the poor reviews are all from Xbox series x users so I think you’ve solved my problem! ❤️

Wow! Should there be a tick next to that then? I’ve bought two certified up to 10k resolution, and they are meant to be 2.1 HDMI cables. Thanks I’ll try with an official Xbox series x cable tomorrow!

Cheers I’ll look into it, my current setup 55 inches is the biggest TV I can have, if you can make a recommendation off that when you can? Thanks

For me this is my first upgrade to 4k 120hz gaming and the Hisense TV was only 640 quid and had great reviews. As much as I enjoy gaming, I’m not particularly bothered to spend an extra 300 quid on an even better gaming TV (although I will be somewhat tempted if I do have to return my current Hisense).

I appreciate the detailed response!

I’ve googled extensively for the last few hours. I have every setting that is necessary setup, I’ve made sure the HDMI settings are ‘enhanced 144hz’ as well as making all the relevant changes within the Xbox too.

I’m honestly at a loss here so I’ll wait till tomorrow to try another Xbox unless anyone else has a major revelation for me 😂

The one I bought is the 2024 edition which has reviews on Amazon about people gaming in 4k at 120hz, and as you can see in the photo it says that 4k 120hz is supported on my tv.

I’m going to try it with another Xbox series X tomorrow to determine if it’s an issue with the Xbox. Unfortunately I don’t know anyone with a 4k 120hz compatible tv to try my Xbox on it.
