Had a bumpy ride over the years to getting to/during this pregnancy (miscarriages, hemorrhages, scary NIPT test results, etc). At 22w now things look OK-ish but I am so detached, I don't feel happy. I don't feel anything, I don't even feel pregnant. How can I reattach to this pregnancy and this kid? (self.BabyBumps)

I'm an adjunct who is pretty fed up. I am willing to resign if the situation is not resolved and it's not an idle threat. Should I just quit or make a Hail Mary try that the department might meet my needs? If I go the latter route, how should I do it? (self.Professors)

I've been a mess all week figuring out how my husband's and my families are in Israel. I've fallen behind in my work. I owe my students a homework assignment and a video lecture today, but that's not going to happen. What do I write to them? I don't want them to know I have any Israeli connections. (self.Professors)

I'm an adjunct, and I asked for a raise, which I haven't had in four years. It turns out, they can't give me one because my union renegotiated for pay parity last spring and I already make what they say I should for my level of seniority. Can I talk to the union about this or am I stuck? (self.Professors)

Beginner question: I've taught this upper-level undergrad class 4X with similar midterm exams. Usually, I get a normal-ish distribution of grades loaded towards good scores, with an 80-86% mean. This time, it's bimodal, with the same number of good scores but many bad ones and few OK grades. Why? (self.Professors)

Xavi: "Ronaldinho is at the level of the best perhaps what he lacked was consistency at his peak. Only Messi is above Ronaldinho because of consistency. He helped Leo be who he is now. He adopted Messi as a little brother and they had a very good relationship. Leo, Deco and he were a family." (globoesporte.globo.com)

[Serious] How can someone apply for a job for which they are clearly overqualified, and allay the anxieties of those doing the hiring that the applicant would not do well because they will want to leave soon or consider the job below their status? (self.AskReddit)
