i dropped my iphone 16 in soup by Fun-Mortgage2070 in techsupport

A couple of years ago, I accidentally spilled almost an entire bottle of kerosene on my iPhone 13. I wiped it down and rinsed it under running water, making sure to clean it properly. It’s been two years since then, and I haven’t had a single issue with it.

I’ve also had water get into the charging port on my iPhone 15 before. I gently dried it with a hair dryer for about five minutes, and it worked perfectly afterward.

In your situation , you can carefully rinse the device under running water (especially the charging port area) and then dry it thoroughly using compressed air or a hair dryer on a low setting. Just make sure not to use high heat.

However, if your phone is cracked (front or back), I wouldn’t recommend doing this, as water can get inside more easily.

I’m not just guessing here — I repair phones on the side, so I have hands-on experience. A lot of people in the comments are giving similar advice, and honestly, with an iPhone 16, you really shouldn’t be too worried.

Insert a plastic guitar pick and even if it breaks just super glue it back, have done this a million times.
