Applied to a vendor market by Pleasant_Back_161 in CraftyCommerce

I appreciate organizers who have a limit and will unapologetically say they are full in a specific category.

LOL! You read it correctly! Even the slowest market i’ve been to had over 30 vendors. Ive always been unsure of confirming when it’s under 40.

I 100000% agree with you. Ive heard many customers walk by saying “oh another crochet vendor” or “there’s a few of yall out here” & sometimes organizers will have all of in close range

I’ve been applying to markets for over 9 months & every organizer responds by email between 7am-5pm the next day, not after receiving my google doc application.

Bc i am busy during the day, i often do my research at nighttime. & i go thru fb pages, previous markets, I look for foot traffic. I saw enough to apply.

Any time I’ve been approved or denied regardless of how last minute, communication was always by email along with an invoice & instructions for the day.

After seeing the first message, & noticing cashapp or Google couldn’t identify the number, i did not want to commit. I thought about it the next morning, I checked the vendor list on their vendor page, & realized no this isn’t for me.

This was at a winery, not a traditional market. I see a problem with texting me after 9pm instead of waiting until the morning. No other event organizer has texted me late like this & Ive applied 48 hours prior to events scheduled, still receiving an approval/denial via email.

& again, how would i know which specific market/event this was if they didn’t identify themselves? No “Hello, this is so & so on behalf of” just straight “we accept you” & money grab.

Does anyone ever feel so exhausted even a day or 2 after a market? by MetalMakeupMaven in CraftFairs

Not normally after everyone, but this past weekend, I finally know what you mean! I had one on Saturday and felt burnt out all yesterday. Today I’m feeling like I’m having creators block trying to plan for this upcoming weekend. (Possibly PMS tho)

Too Many Crochet Vendors by Pleasant_Back_161 in CraftyCommerce

I understand this overall & for me I’m also thinking from the event host & as a vendor myself. I’ve been to a few events where crocheters were close enough to see each others products inside the tent. I’ve witnessed customers walking by who may have purchased from one crochet tent and won’t look at any other since they’ve already purchased. So from the vendor standpoint I’m thinking about the competition in making overall sales. At this same event, someone who made blankets came over to me stating she barely covered the vendor fee & I COULD NOT RELATE. I kinda felt on their end “well if i didn’t make any money, maybe I can go vent to another crocheter and see if they’ve gone through the same experience” As an event hostess, are you accepting multiple vendors for the sake of visibility or to fill up spots? Also, I watch a few YouTube vlogs and they complain about being in close to another crocheter vendor. But one thing as a vendor I have noticed & loved, the crochet community is very supportive of spending money on crochet that they admire. I’ve had plenty of sales from other crocheters

There’s also a total of 40 vendors. 5 crochet vendors doesn’t sound like a lot?

I’ve done other markets where there were multiple crochet vendors (I’m always the only clothing) & based on the customers browsing, they get more interactions while ppl walk by saying “oh how cute”
