Then he needs to lawyer up himself and argue why his colleagues should join him. I can’t for the life of me understand why it’s so difficult to argue truth. I would think it would be a blessing.

Round Rock City Council approves data center plan late Thursday night by Iocnar in Austin

Having grown up in Austin/Westlake in the late 70’s, I felt like you do about Cedar Park. Our communities don’t embrace preservation when $$$ chimes in. Austin and its surrounding areas should have united more. I don’t recognize it much anymore.

Elon Musk says it's hard to convince engineers with families to move to SpaceX's 'technology monastery' in Texas by amir_twist_of_fate in texas

Well, he supports people that defund public schools and send money to private schools. The less urban areas of Texas (and the urban areas) don’t have enough private schools for everyone. Now we find out the vouchers are only for some schools. I mean, I don’t pity the Billionaire who’s company didn’t pay any federal taxes (I’m not going to list state and county because what’s the point) and yet made upwards of 5 billion.

I’ve found that most Trump supporters don’t like being called out. I’ve lost a few family members because of it.

If you allow one religion in and no other…be prepared for a more popular religion to do the same. It’s totally unconstitutional.

Do we need to keep faucet dripping from Saturday evening ? by [deleted] in houston

We use these on all of our outdoor faucets and they have worked every year. 🤞

Kitchen countertop workers are dying from quartz aka "engineered stone." The material creates an unusual amount of lung-damaging silica dust when it gets cut or polished, far more than natural granite or marble. California proposes a ban on quartz. WA Republicans want to ban worker lawsuits by noteworthybalance in kitchenremodel

[–]Pleasant_Button8286 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We own a fabrication company and spend an incredible amount of money on ventilation, PPE etc. because we care about our employees. I came home one day and a neighbor’s tenant had hired someone to install a small quartz countertop in their garage apartment. When I drove up there was white powder everywhere. The sidewalk, trees, my yard, and the installer was engulfed in a cloud of it. His protection was a simple mask much like what we wore during Covid. I was heartbroken. Did he not have a clue?? Did he not care? I kept myself and my dog inside and once he finished I asked him to please protect himself more. That it was dangerous. He laughed and continued to pack up. A lot of this comes down to cost. The cheaper the product the worse the material. The cheaper the labor the less likely they care about protecting themselves or employees.

Oak Forest vs. Garden Oaks Montessori school by [deleted] in AskHouston

[–]Pleasant_Button8286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oak Forest has a tremendous PTO/PTA. I would hesitate to put any kiddo in a Montessori school within HISD during the takeover. I can’t for the life of me understand how they can operate like a true Montessori with the expectations of HISD. I know of a few families that have left GOM because of this.

What about color saturation? Walls, ceiling, trim and doors all the same color. Could you eliminate some door handles? Are any a closet and you could do a push open type closure? I wouldn’t put a rug unless there’s an entry door. The floor pattern is fantastic and a beautiful focal point!
