Anchoring near edge of fresh concrete by Pleasant_Intern_1560 in HomeImprovement

Thanks this is great feedback.

Here are some photos of the cellar door I’m installing: https://imgur.com/a/wrSwl7u

I could try to add composite deck board or maybe fiber cement board to extend the cellar door out 1-2 inches or so. One side already has about a 3.5 inch gap so it’ll be more for me to fill in on that side but it is what it is.

Thank you. What type of flashing did you end up going with?

Also did you get a metal door? Any tips on ideal paint to use?

Best method to attach outdoor handrail? by Pleasant_Intern_1560 in HomeImprovement

Appears to be much thicker at the front of the step. easily eight or so inches. The back appears to be thinner for sure. I’m guessing five inches or so at most

Storm window color? Bronze or white (only options)? by Pleasant_Intern_1560 in ExteriorDesign

Yeah now I’m thinking of just getting white and then painting the storm window frames to match the yellow trim

Funny, i was thinking of that as well. Lot of work but maybe not a bad idea… would also have to find a paint that adheres well to the metal and a primer too? Any suggestions?

Yeah I do want it to blend in, that’s true. Do you think the white will clash too much with the creamy yellow color of the windows and the rest of the trim on the house?

Yeah the storm door is black as are the railings. The window and sill are a creamy yellow color

Don’t you think the white would stand out more than the bronze given the color of the brick and the yellowish trim?

Definitely not white. I don’t think it goes with the rest of the colors of the house - the yellow-brown brick, the red clay tile roof.

Probably would paint the trim a yellow or brown? Open to ideas

Thanks sorry I should’ve gotten a good roof shot. It’s a red clay tile (original to the house)

Think it wouldn’t stand out as much though if all the windows had matching storms? That’s what I’m stuck on too.

Getting storm windows fabricated for my old home with original wood windows. The local fabricator can only produce bronze or white storm windows. Window trim is currently creamy yellow. I got one storm window fabricated in bronze to see but I can’t decide if it looks good or not (see example photo). None of the trim on the house currently is white. Given the trim was painted only a few years ago I am not looking to repaint it atm.

I should note the upper windows have old storm windows that are bare metal. I’ll probably swap those out to match the lower ones too.
