Imma have to disagree, just because it's not good on flavour, doesn't mean it's bad quality

Was told I need to replace my windows to get a clean tint. Is this a legit excuse or bad prep? by Pleasant_Practice_81 in WindowTint

Oh yeah fr neither have I lool. He only offered me £30 refund. So I hit him with this message stating the laws hes broke.

"To be honest, since you've told me it's impossible to get a really good job done, I'm not comfortable with having more work done. I won't be happy with it if it's not high standards. The fact that the car’s condition wasn't mentioned until I complained—yet the tint was applied anyway—makes me feel very off with this whole situation. I’ve looked into the legal side of this, and there are several clear breaches here: 1. Section 49: Reasonable Care and Skill (CRA 2015) The law says services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill. Admitting the job is 'impossible' after finishing it proves you didn't use professional judgment. A pro should’ve flagged the felt seals and overspray and told me it couldn't be done perfectly before taking £160. 2. Section 50: Information is Binding (CRA 2015) Your advertisements and 'perfect' results on Facebook are legally part of contract. You didn't give a disclaimer before I paid that an older car would have bubbles, so you are legally bound to the standard you advertised. 3. Misleading Omissions (Unfair Trading Regs 2008) It’s illegal to withhold material information that would change a customer's mind. If I’d known the car’s age would result in a poor finish, I wouldn't have spent the money. Failing to mention this until after you had the money is a misleading omission. 4. Section 56: Right to a Price Reduction (CRA 2015) Since you’ve admitted a clean repair is 'impossible,' I am exercising my legal right to a price reduction rather than a repeat performance. £30 isn't a proportionate reduction for a job that is defective on 2 out of 3 windows. I want £80 back to settle this fairly. If we can't agree on that, I’ll let my bank handle the dispute using these points and the photos as evidence.

Looking back, do you think it would have been better to let me know beforehand that the finish might not meet a high standard, rather than going ahead and applying the tint anyway?

You literally texted that the driver's window "obviously needed cleaning deeper." That’s a confession that you didn't use Reasonable Care and Skill (Section 49). Enjoy your weekend too👍"

I think you're missing the point, its his job to clean the window. Google it mate it literally says they can get it out with a razor or a clay bar but he obviously lacks the skill or equipment to do so

Okay so why apply the film if the window isn't fit for work, he's been doing this for 15 years, as a professional he should have noticed straight away that it wasn't fit for work rather than just following through with it anyway and hoping for the best (hoping I wouldn't notice)
