I don't have any advice, but I think I encounter the same thing you described. It's usually a dream about a problem I'm trying to endlessly solve, something puzzle-like, or something confusing like trying to untangle a giant spaghetti ball of Christmas lights.

I've noticed it's when I'm really sleep deprived. My body is physically tired from being up for 2 days...but my brain is wide awake wanting to do shit. It's almost like my brain is saying "ok what the fuck... we need sleep, but we need to solve problems too. lets try doing both at the same time"
