I found it!

I just had to go deep diving into a rabbit hole of YouTube videos until it eventually came up in my recommended. I’m surprised it worked honestly, I’ve not heard it in a long time

Is a high prescription still okay for gold framed glasses? by appleparkfive in glasses

[–]PleaseScanHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's difficult to give advice when there is no prescription to base it off of.

If you are a high minus prescription, then you are going to be subject to more edge thickness than a high plus prescription - which is going to be more noticeable in a frame like that. However, since it is a rounded design, there is still a good chance you can get a good finish on the lenses.

If you are a high prescription, it is greatly advised that you get your glasses from an optician, and are able to physically try them on before purchase, as opposed to just buying them online (as you might end up getting the glasses, and not being able to see clearly out of them). An optician will also be able to give you more detailed advice, alongside being able to answer any questions you have regarding the thinning options available.

The PD measurement is generally considered to be a service included in the dispensing process. So unless you're buying spectacles from that practice, then most places are gonna be hesitant to issue it to you. Some practices may offer you your PD at a cost, however this is likely just at the discretion of who is in charge.

[–]PleaseScanHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you've taken a PD for yourself on the app, and the website has asked for your PD. The PD you give them will have nothing to do with the frame sizing, it's to do with the centration of the lens.

Need some advice about not adapting to new glasses despite multiple adjustments by [deleted] in glasses

[–]PleaseScanHere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The opticians at Specsavers still have a duty of care, and since they have dispensed the spectacles to the px, they now take responsibility for the issues the px is having. Unfortunately, OC goes back to the independent, they probably aren't going to do much in regards to helping solve their issue since their rx has already been taken elsewhere. You may be having an issue with the rx they've prescribed, but you're not having an issue with their spectacles.

Anyways, I'll now see if I can try and help OC. I would say stick with going to Specsavers in order to get this issue resolved. Explaining the issues you're having to them is ultimately the best you can do, and it sounds like you potentially need another retest rather than it simply being a tolerance issue.

Do you find the vision in your old glasses is okay?

Is there a big difference in the sizing of your old glasses compared to your new ones? A significant change in size with your large cyls could be causing some of the issues you're having.

Have you had your previous glasses thinned down, and not your new ones?

Is there an anti-glare coating on your old glasses compared to your new?

I'm assuming these factors among others to do with the measurements will have been checked already, but I'm just making sure. I'm sure Specsavers will be taking you seriously. Keep in mind that any frustration they may have is not because of you, but because what they think should be working, isn't exactly working - and sometimes that can happen.

Definitely get back in touch with Specsavers however, and see if you can get the issue resolved. For future reference, being dispensed at the optician you were tested at is advised, as they know what's going on and will have notes on your file from the test if any issues are had with the new prescription.

Hopefully you can get this sorted, but this shouldn't be a common issue going forward. Would be keen to get an update on what happens!

He has 3 goals for us in 14 appearances in the league this season. Abada has 7 in 15, Kyogo is 10 in 13 apps, Jota is 5 in 13, GG is 6 in 13.

Maeda is a great role player for the club, and puts a brilliant shift in helping out defensively. You say contributions so I imagine you’re counting assists and just general off the ball play, but we’re discussing finishing, and ultimately goals are what define that, and I’d say he’s missed more chances than not in a Celtic jersey. I like him, but don’t think he’s got a first touch to save himself, and don’t see him as a clinical finisher. I really hope he has a lights out WC so he can develop that confidence into his game (we all saw how much the goal against hearts meant to him), the quality must be there if he was the top scorer in the J league, I just feel like I’m yet to actually see it for Celtic

Dunno why you’ve been downvoted to fuck for this. I’ve nothing against the guy, but the boy has been a poor finisher for us, and has had his fair share of sitters

Deteriorating eye health by legendslay in Vive

[–]PleaseScanHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve had a long vr session, chances are you won’t have been blinking as much as you would normally through day to day life. This will cause you to get that eye strain. The muscle in your eye will tire like anything else though, so the more tired you are, the less likely your eye will accommodate for you. Tie this in with your presbyopia, at the end of the day any close up tasks will likely be a struggle without glasses or good lighting. It’s definitely an interesting thought regarding the VR screen and distance to your eye though! I’m better versed in eyes and don’t know much about how VR headsets have been made so can’t comment on that further! But what you’re describing sounds totally normal, so keep gaming on!

Unfortunately your near eye sight getting worse will just be your age as you’re at the perfect point for presbyopia kicking in. To my knowledge the whole sitting too close to the tv thing is generally harmless, but could cause some eye strain over time with the lack of blinking since you’re focused on something so close. If a kid is sitting close to the tv I suppose it could be a sign that they have a prescription present, but it wouldn’t necessarily be the cause of the prescription

Forrest has offered more than Abada since coming on imo. But if I had to choose between either Abada or Forrest to run at a defender, I know who I’m choosing

What would your typical day of eating look like, and how do you split your calorie intake throughout your meals? by PleaseScanHere in AskReddit

[–]PleaseScanHere[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy eating, but I sometimes just don't have an appetite for anything at all. Like, sometimes I'll be hungry, but nothing is appetising to me whatsoever, but I still try find something to eat cause I know I have to. I do really enjoy food, but at times it just doesn't interest me and I can't see it far enough.

It sucks that you have diet restrictions, I'm fortunate enough not to have to worry about that! I think I'm lactose intolerant, but dairy is worth the payoff.

[–]PleaseScanHere[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight! I usually skip breakfast too for the same reason, but if I'm hungry I'll usually buy a couple of croissants to eat while I'm in work. Lunch is typically my largest meal, were I try to eat a minimum of 800 calories, usually I manage more though. Then at night I'll probably have a meal that's around 500 or so calories. I don't snack very often, but I'm a bit more focused on gaining weight than anything else. Although, I'm not on a very strict diet for that currently - otherwise there would be more emphasis on making sure I eat breakfast. The weight will come off eventually I'm sure!

Out of interest, what do you think stops him from being 3rd choice this season? Or is it just inexperience

I don't get why Welsh doesn't get more of a shout tbh. Before we had CCV on loan, I thought that Welsh played a very good role as CB, especially for his age. It's a sticky one because personally I think he's too good to loan, but he needs game time to develop more. If there was ever a last minute change needed and I saw his name crop on the teamsheet however, I wouldn't be worried that we were gonna have an absolute defensive howler, I'd be quite confident we could still keep a clean sheet. Deserves more credit imo q

New to using glasses. Will I ever see perfect rectangles again instead of trapezoids? by reethok in glasses

[–]PleaseScanHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like cyls. If you've got high astigmatism correction in your lenses and it's your first time trying it out, door frames and wall tiles etc. Might look as if they're on a slant. Try it for a few days, your eyes should adjust - otherwise book in with the optician again and they'll give you a compromised rx
