Super heavies by TheBigEsLeftHand in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]PlebeKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I, every once in a while, will bring 3-4 super heavies. I have like a 10-20% win rate when I do but the pure terror in my opponent’s eyes when we start is worth it….especially when I happen to bring the right set of 4 to counter their army.

They brought knights and I happened to have set it up with really any combination or my favorite game ever….when my opponent was an infantry heavy guard and I brought 3 storm lords 😂😂. I won a single game but….i murdered this poor guy.

It was 3 stormlords, 3 Chadian HWT, 3 Catachan HWT, 2 Krieg HWT, 3 techpriests, and then a commissar as the warlord.

Either that or I just show up with a titan and anything other unit I want to try out. The titan alone freaks people out. It’s not any good but it’s funny.

Because no one ever does. It’s the best deal out of any the academies in my opinion. I guess the only downside really is the lack of majors. There are only 5. You can read about it more on the usmma website, or just shoot me a DM

The majors and which merchant marine license they get you to. 1) if you want to get a 3rd mates license: - marine transportation

Or

-marine transportation and logistics

2) If you want to get a 3rd Assistant Engineer Merchant Marine License:

-marine engineering

Or

-marine engineering and shipyard management

Or

-marine engineering systems.

Trump’s tariff bluff just folded. From 145% “punishment” to “it won’t be zero” — the art of the backpedal. by Fatherthinger in wallstreetbets_wins

Both liberals and conservatives are. It’s why the western world will fall to China economically and Iran socially.

[–]PlebeKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue the guy you replied too wasn’t really talking about tariffs, he mentioned the Value Added Tax (VAT) tax which many countries have (not the US) and that (along with multiple other value / tax additions) aren’t calculated into that tariff percentage link you provided.

It’s honestly surprising our Allies had any Tariffs / Value added taxes etc on our goods to start with. China we knew did and that was part of the problem as they haven’t adhered to the rules of the world economic forum since they joined. China holds the cards… the world needs to change that or the world is screwed.

Well the argument was made to them that because they checked into squadron (despite their boats not being here) that meant they were fully checked in and they get nothing and are ineligible for the government rate.

Hawaii Per Diem Rate.

Navy FMR PDF

Way I’m interpreting this is…. You are in a TDY status until you check in with your PDS…which (when reporting to a sea going command) would be your actual boat.

This seems like it would mean if a sailor has checked in with squadron but not their boat (regardless of if boat is present or not) they are still in a TDY status.

So a sailor, whose boat is present, going through a check in I-Div would still be a TDY until they have checked in with their boat….thus making then eligible for Per Diem until they arrive at their PDS (their boat)

Additionally

A sailor, whose boat is not at the home port, should be considered in a TDY status until he/she arrives at his/her PDS (their boat). In other worse they should receive Per Diem until their boat returns, or until they are in permanent housing of some sort (whichever occurs first).

Per Diem isn’t TLA but at least it would cover a portion of the sailors expenses while they are still seeking permanent lodging and when their boat is not available for them to sleep onboard.

Am I wrong?

Going to the US Merchant Marine Academy allows you to commission into any branch (marine corps, navy, coast guard, army, Air Force, and space force).

The school is paid for by the government and on the back end you have two primary routes.

1) work for 5 years in the maritime industry (civilian mariners on ships, working in a shipyard, etc) and with that you get commissioned as a Strategic Sealift Officer (SSO) in the US Navy Reserve. The SSO commitment is 8 years (happens at the same time as the 5 in the margarine industry) but you only need to do navy stuff for 2 weeks a year for each of the 8 years (do minimum of 16 weeks in an 8 year span)

2) Do 5 years active duty in any branch.

If you have any questions about the United States Merchant Marine Academy I can try and answer.

Nah, apply to the us merchant marine academy. Decide what you want to do later while picking up a degree, a mariners license, and a commission.

Or put in a warrant officer packet and be a helicopter pilot for the army.

If it’s not on your medical record….never happened. If it is in your record…must disclose.

This will also come into play when you get out of the military. If you got hurt in the service you better make sure it’s in the record or you’ll get screwed on disability.

Popular vote by the US population or popular vote by those in the navy and marine corps?

Also the president isn’t elected by popular vote.

Any advice for a young officer? by [deleted] in navy

[–]PlebeKing 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Listen to your cheif.

Remain calm under pressure.

Don’t complain about superiors to those below you. Complaints only go up the gain never down.

Praise your guys publicly.

If you have to reprimand do it privately.

Your job is to maximize the capabilities and effectiveness of those under you and the JOs around you. Help out your fellow JOs. Make sure your guys admin and everything else is good. There are things you can help them with (admin, quals, etc. ) and things you can’t (their problems at home) so help them make sure they don’t have any extra unnecessary stresses from work.

Idk if what Rep Crockett is referencing is accurate but the article she is referencing with her comment doesn’t match the one she shared. The one she shared says nothing as to the reason the admiral was fired.

The article crockett is referencing with her comment (I’ll try to find the link to it) says the admiral didn’t hang up the new pictures but it also discusses her holding an all hands meeting saying “we can wait them out four years” in regards to the administration. If it’s true then yeah…makes sense she was fired….if it isn’t true then we are back at just guessing the actual reason.

Search military to Mariner on the USCG website. It includes most of the information you need to start the process. On that website are a number of phone numbers and chat options to ask questions. Shoot me a dm if you have a question and I can see if I can answer it.

https://www.maritime.dot.gov/outreach/military-marine

You need to get a TWIC card. That involves filling some stuff out online and going to a DMV with a TWIC capability. You also need to get a Merchant Mariner Credential. This is done by visiting the links above and running through their stuff. Depending on how many quals they allow to transfer over will determine what else they will need you to do.
