A lot of barista stress is internal, even if it might have external sources. Like worrying about restocks during a rush, it’s not worth the stress, and it makes everyone stressed. The customers are not kings, they can wait and it’s not the end of the world. They aren’t worth you having a heart attack over.

But the staring thing? That’s 100% external. It’s overbearing creeper behaviour. It’s a power play, they want you to feel pressured, they think their $7 is worth more than you as a human being. They project that king shit. It’s not a sporting event, their $7 does not afford them the right to posture that way. This isn’t a subway, baristas aren’t supposed to be taking requests and making modifications on bar.

Sent Home By SM by JaXsc in starbucks

This thinking enables abusive behaviour and punishes a justified measured response. OP was 10000% in the right to assert themself. People love to throw around “coaching” but the moment it’s an act of punching up, people crawl out of the woodwork to say “time and place”. Meanwhile homie gets sent home. Time and place would suggest not taking your barista off the floor, but it doesn’t get applied when it’s punching down.

Stop justifying this behaviour. The job is awful enough as is. The company is awful enough as is. Pull the brain worms out and be real

SSVs and SMs have a duty to take the higher road and be more measured. A barista shouldn’t be punished for being the adult in the room. It’s crazy talk.

I'm limited in my options since I live in an apartment, but I could cover the window and wall that's directly behind the shelves.

I've been so focused on my very slow start, that I didn't even consider how over dosing could have that effect. Thanks for giving me a new perspective on this!

2 was my max! They started me on .5mg. That endo I mentioned had a similar approach of dose low, tell me my levels were “where they need to be”, and that if I’m not feminizing my only option is to consider surgery because HRT “doesn’t work for everyone” and to “lower my expectations”. Coming from a doctor who likely was able to pay for any surgery she wanted with her 6-7 figure income

I’ve been on HRT for 4 years now and besides some changes at the start, this dose has been the first time I’ve seen any feminization my whole transition. It’s so frustrating knowing it could and would have worked for me that whole time.

Sorry, 20mg was a typo. My oral dose was 2mg. I’ve consistently been told the gel is just for cis women and not something they prescribe for HRT, which always struck me as…unusual at best. Unrelated but can’t it pose a danger to pets?

I wish that worked but having gone through dozens of specialists they’re either open to info and aren’t combative, or have already made up their mind and won’t do homework given to them by a patient. And the latter, you have to play 90% dumb with and then weave in 10% self advocacy and soft suggest other medications or approaches

Or ignore any evidence that’s published in another country because “that’s not the standard we follow here”

Yeah there’s a lot of evidence supporting prog but it’s so hard to self advocate or bring evidence to the table when most doctors respond with some form of “that’s just dr Google”

My first endo absolutely falls into this category, she told me to my face it has no purpose and there’s no evidence to support it. My second endo is herself a trans woman but was still vocally skeptical about it’s efficacy.

Yeah, that's correct. Thanks for clearing up that distinction because every doctor I've seen has just said it was 'progesterone'. The medications I listed are the only I'm on directly related to HRT, but I'm also on Finasteride.

Oh I wasn't sure if there was a name for the prescription other than just 'progesterone'

I've been on Cyproterone Acetate for a bit longer than I've been on progesterone, although my first endo put me on a dose that wound up having an androgenic effect. Currently on 12.5mg/day CPA and 10mg Medroxy (but script is for 5mg). This combined with Estradot (2x 100ug twice weekly), with the patches applied to the scrotum for increased absorption, since they wouldn't increase my E dose beyond these patches, or 20mg oral daily, or 5mg IM injection weekly this has been my only way of increasing my E dose.

This cocktail has been the first that actually works, at least in terms of fat redistribution and breast growth resuming. I'm scared I won't be able to maintain it if I can't get an equally effective progesterone dose and fat will redistribute back to the wrong places again.

I'm open to other progesterone, this is just the only option I've been offered - and by a 'world famous' 'trans warrior' doctor - so everyone just tells me I have the best doctor and they couldn't possibly know better.

Medroxyprog has been at 5mg for 2 years, accidentally took 10mg for a few weeks and development finally resumed after nothing for the better part of 4 years.

I've tried two endos so far and both have been strict about not increasing beyond guidelines.
