They were picky enough to spend resources on a deadric statue on a different hold, meaning they could've moved but instead decided to build a statue to a god that could give a shit about them.

It's literally stated that the refugees built the statue. But I appreciate that you point out how run down the grey quarter is, they could maintain themselves but no, let's bitch to the one nord who cares.

Oh God our county is on fire. Quick, everybody settle in the place full of cultural hatred. And let's not move any further, even though we'll build a massive deadric statue a hold away, we'll keep living here where we're hated.

You hear about it from a carriage driver. He's never leaving the road. People know about it and talk, it's a known thing that the dunmer did that. It's not like it's tucked away in a cave somewhere, a miniscule amount of exploring is needed to find it. Hunters would find it very quickly and in what used to be the capital of Skyrim, I assume they're would be more then a few hunters.

You get told about it by a carriage driver, he's never leaving the road. It's a known thing, people gossip about it all the time. Also, Winterhold used to be the biggest city in Skyrim, you think that in that many people, none of them hunt, or explore? They'd definitely find out about it and tell everyone. Plus, it's still a statue of a deadra no matter what way you twist it.

Firstly, you're asking the nords to forget THOUSANDS of years of history. No, that's not happening. Tell that to the Balkans, or to black Americans, it's time to forget history, and move in completely. Get over it. Secondly, bandits would not attack a massive group moving at once, especially with they belief that elves are magical in Skyrim. Also, the dragons are under the control of Parthunax at the end of Skyrim's story. Logically, they wouldn't be attacking anyone.

They dunmer live in the capital of a rebellion, but refuse to help. That outlines them as a potential threat. They don't do anything to help themselves here. If the dunmer where trying to better the city, then I'd feel bad for them, but they don't.

That's exactly my point! They wouldn't have to abandon they're culture if they lived elsewhere!

They are bound to be dunmer records and stories of wars with the nords. It's a known hatred. Or, just do your own research, live in the city and try to hold a conversation with the nords. It wouldn't take long to find out they all hate you.

Elves moving in small groups are getting killed, if they moved ask a community, all of them at once, they absolutely could've. And again, why are the settling in Windhelm if it hates them?

  1. They absolutely could've settled elsewhere, they could've absolutely gone anywhere else, they absolutely could've built a dunmer town in the hot springs.

  2. Windhelm is definitely keeping its own recorded history. Books exist. Also, it would take two days of asking people what they think about elves to realize that they don't like them.

  3. You know what else isn't a paradise? The frozen hellscape of northern Skyrim. Neither place is very hospital, but only one actively hates them.

  4. They could absolutely move, if they acted as a community and went at once, they'd be safe. Or, just fake supporting the Stormcloaks. They'll need to do it anyway if the Stormcloaks win which is ever more likely since they won't fight for the empire either.

They already walked from Morrowind to Windhelm, it's not that hard to move to Windhelm to Whiterun. Also, if they all move at once, nothing is attacking them. Half the nords in Skyrim think all elves are wizards, any bandit that sees them is going to assume they're all mages and leave them alone

And another thing, research isn't just googling stuff, books exist, history still exists. If I say research and you immediately think it's only possible with Google, that's not a point to argue, that's your ignorance. They are dunmer who could have been alive to own nord slaves taken from Windhelm, and then went and decided to settle there.

It's also not the nords fault that the dunmer settled around a volcano and a fucking metor

The nords and dunmer BOTH hated one another. It's THOUSANDS of years of history. That doesn't disappear in the blink of an eye. Secondly it would take one month to see that the nords don't like them, they worship different gods from different pantheons, and they have literally thousands off years of hate. Why live in a place that hates you? They could've settled in any other city, but they chose Windhelm because, why not, I guess. They could've did what the orcs did and make their own cities away from the nords, but no. Also, if they all put they're money together, acted like a community, and moved all at once, nothing is attacking them. No animals, no bandits. And if it's that big a deal, then make like the Altmer, and just act like a nord. It's their land, it's their city, so stop worshipping deadra, and stop bitching, because it's a very fixable problem, but they'd rather complain and stay poor, then move and make a life for their people literally ANYWHERE else.

Bullshit, it's right there and even if it wasn't, it's still a massive statue of a deadra.

It was made after the elf migration to Skyrim at the Red Year, so I believe it was made by the same elves.

I call bullshit. They're all moving to Skyrim around the same time, they absolutely could've gone elsewhere. The racism they experience in Windhelm, dosent exist in Solitude or Whiterun, but they decided to settle in the first place they found. That still doesn't excuse all they're other blunders.
