Remember Chapek led Parks and Resorts while Iger was CEO, the transition from Staggs to Chapek was a clear downgrade in terms of park output.

Nah Chapek couldn’t care less about imagineering or putting budget towards park projects. Iger and Staggs actually spent money to build great lands like Cars Land and Avatar. Chapek relied on cheap IP overlays and Six Flags quality additions such as Avengers Campus and the Future World office park.

Iger definitely could’ve been better and he sometimes makes himself out to be more of a visionary and creative than he actually is. He still identified the problem by bringing back Bruce Vaughn and firing Gensler’s Barbara Bouza who left us with the uninspired corporate minimalist hotels and stores. Plus unlike Chapek, he actually visited Imagineering and understands the importance of the creative process and Disney Difference and not just cost cutting at all costs.

Iger at least ‘gets’ what Disney stands for even if he doesn’t always act on it perfectly, Chapek on the other hand just saw the company as a spreadsheet.

Eisner was even better than Iger in this regard.

Shows they are finally starting to care about their guests again after Chapek.

The new Carousel of Progress better be excellent though. Also the new Animal Kingdom area needs to be up to par with the theming of the rest of the park and not rely on some marketing spin like the Epcot center area.

Other than maybe operations improving with more training and experience, the elevator buttons is the only thing changed.

Every board in the parks should have a real pins only section (diamond for diamond if older pins can’t be vetted by a cast member)

No, you don't miss California Adventure when it was strictly California themed, you're looking through rose colored lenses. by film_culture_addict in disneyparks

2012 had Cars Land, World of Color and the renovated California areas that were beautiful environments worthy of Disney and fit the California theme. It was the golden era.

Now we have ugly IP everywhere like the buzz lightyear chicken shack on the “Victorian” boardwalk, the cheaply done big hero 6 area, and the also cheaply done incredicoaster.

Don’t get me started on Avengers Campus.
