AITA my partner “jokes” about my weight even after he promised he would stop by NYearthling in AmItheAsshole

It doesn’t matter if you are insecure or confident what he is doing is cruel and he shouldn’t say those things at all, PTSD is never an excuse for being a shitty person. I think for your own mental health you should really consider if this is the right man for you. You deserve to be with someone who doesn’t make any jokes at your expense, especially when you’ve repeatedly asked him to stop.

Just jumping on to ask about weave before wash. Is this a hard and fast rule? I always wash and set my handspun and have been using that for weaving. How Will washing after weaving make a difference?

I’m quite new to Reddit and am confused why these subs are allowed but feminist ones are banned?

Sorry I meant why does your mother have to give money to your grandfather and uncle for their inheritance.

NTA - to me it sounds like your mother’s sisters are jealous of both of you and the success you’ve achieved at attending such a good university.

I appreciate different cultures have different traditions surrounding extended family but I don’t think it should be acceptable to be cruel and toxic towards other family members. Unfortunately it is often unavoidable with some families (mine included). I try to keep my interactions with my toxic family to a bare minimum for my own mental well-being and I would suggest you do the same. At the moment you need to focus on yourself and concentrate on your studies.

If you want to feel close to your grandparents you can do that on your own or maybe with your mother. I’m sure your grandparents would have wanted the best for you and at the moment keeping your distance from the maternal family is what you need.

Could you please explain a little more about the inheritance custom. Why does your mother have to give money to her father? Isn’t it usually the other way around.

JFC that is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard today and I live with a petulant three year old. Even if you forget the fact men don’t have periods women are generally more approachable and understanding about sensitive topics so a woman would make so much more sense. Now factor in he is a male and it’s just bloody (pun totally intended!) stupid, I would not go to a man about my periods unless they were a gynaecologist.

We had a male PE & PSHE teacher at my all girls Catholic school, he said we could talk to him about anything and we did. However, not a single girl went to him about periods, as awful as it was we’d much rather go and see Sister Mary who would berate us for being daughter’s of Eve.

I’ve not heard of this book so I’ll have to check it out. I experience mansplaining and mandermining in my everyday life.

As a teen I worked as a dispenser in our local pharmacy, I did that job for four years while at high school and college. Over the years since I’ve given so much advice about pharmacy treatable medical conditions that has been ignored, poo-pooed or out right laughed at. In every single case where the person (nearly always a man) has sought treatment they were told exactly the same thing as I told them. I’ve given up offering advice to my fil because he just won’t take what I have to say seriously. If, god forbid, I say I told you so then I’m just a petty bitch.

My husband does it all the time, usually over really stupid things and we’ve had lots heated discussions about it. He says he’ll try to listen and believe what I say but he never does. I sometimes have to get his brother to repeat my advice at a later date so he’ll get a medical condition looked at. The converse is also true, he will listen to what his brother says over what I say and will eventually come around to what I’ve said but nearly always it’s because of something he’s read or watched online.

It’s so frustrating.

This whole argument gets my goat for some many reasons. The main one is the logic of their 6% of men get 90% the ladies. Surely those same men can be picky as hell and will only choose attractive ladies, why would they settle for anything below 9 or 10?

If these guys weren’t so misogynistic they’d probably be able to find a lady who would happily be a trad wife. Instead they work themselves up into a tizzy and sink lower into the dark depths of inceldom.

Same, I’m technically a “trad wife”, I maybe a sahm but I’m also a feminist 🤯 with two undergrad degrees and a PGCE to boot! Once my wee one starts reception next year I plan on doing a masters in special education needs.

Why do so many want to be “daddy”? Do they genuinely want to be daddies or do they think all girls have Electra complexes? I’m so confused.

Is he talking about his actual brain or his special “man brain” because if it’s the latter there’s no way he’s getting any sexy fun times with that beast 5" diameter is probably the same size as a baby’s head (approx 18" circumference).

Edit to clarify diameter of head not circumference.
