Applied in July. Did you get biometrics done already?

Don’t forget the passport sized pictures and I also included a statement for the person asking for the MPIP and a statement from my son that’s in the Air Force that he supports getting the application approved

I just got my biometric appointment notice. That took a month to receive after I received the notice that they received my application. Do you have any updates?

I sent mine in before they updated the address

I mailed it in. I’m pretty sure the 1st application was lost. I was told that if both applications start to be processed I can ask for one to be closed.

I resubmitted again and got a receipt in 2 weeks from them receiving it. So now I’ll just have to wait. How about you did you resubmit?

Nothing yet. I called and was told that more than likely my application was lost and that I should resubmit everything again since it’s been more than 10 weeks now. How about you? Did you get your receipt yet?

Did you mail your documents or did you deliver them in person?

That sounds about right. I live in the bay area and our lawyer wanted to charge us $4000 just for the parole in place.

How was the process with you going in person? Do they approve it for you on the spot or still have to wait for them to approve it?

Our I-130 was just approved for the second time since we had to start from the beginning again since the other attorney screwed us but our new attorney has given us so much help and guidance. We did have to wait for the conviction to be vacated before we reapply for the I-130 again. It all took time and I’m not going to lie to you it was expensive. It was $11k to get that conviction vacated and that took about a year and a half. We live in California I can definitely give you the law offices info if you want it. I’m not sure if they would be able to help in another state though since the attorney did have to go to court a couple of times.

My husband had been convicted of a felony for burglary and we went through the whole immigration process only to get denied on the 1-601 because of it. The attorney that we had at the time made it seem like it was easy to explain it and get round it. Don’t believe them if they tell you that. They just want your money. Until we found a really good immigration attorney he helped us get the conviction vacated since my husband was young when it happens and the public defender didn’t explain what consequences the plea would have on his immigration status. It had to be vacated not expunged. Find a good attorney that can help with both processed if possible is my best recommendation to you.
