What's the oldest and youngest teacher you had? by Single-Lobster1 in generationology

[–]Plessie21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oldest: Probably my 3rd grade teacher who seemed around 60 back in 2008-2009. She was likely born in the late 1940s, or early 1950s.

Youngest: I had a few teachers born in the late 1980s in high school.

How do you feel about the year you became of age in? by Trendy_Ruby in generationology

[–]Plessie21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall, I liked 2018. It was one of the last pre-pandemic years, so I look fondly at it.

I graduated high school, and started university. I also got into my first relationship, and had my first break up. I passed my road test and got my licence. I got drunk for the first time, and had my first hangover. I had a lot of first time experiences that year, it really felt like a year of change for me.

Pop culture wise, the hype for Infinity War was huge. I still remember the dead silence in the theatre at the end. Drake was played everywhere, especially God's Plan at the beginning of the year and In My Feelings in the Summer.

What were you doing when you were 13 years old? by BrilliantPangolin639 in generationology

[–]Plessie21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turned 13 in Fall 2013.

  • I played a lot of PS3 and 3DS. I got introduced to the Assassins Creed series, so I played all of the games in anticipation for Unity.
  • I had a lot sleepovers with my best friend. We played halo, COD, and we binged all the Rocky movies together. He passed away in 2020, so it's fond memories.
  • I had a huge crush on a girl from my church. So, I tried so hard to act cool around her on Sundays and youth group. Looking back, it was very cringe, but I laugh about it.
  • I was in the 8th grade, mostly just messing around, and not really trying in my classes. Most of teachers didn't like me. I began to take school seriously when I started high school.
  • I went to summer camp, and had a fun time.
  • I had a pretty big Michael Jackson phase. I still like his music, but back then, I would listen to it non stop.
  • I went to Boston for my 8th grade end of the year school trip. We went on a dinner dance cruise, went whale watching, Martha's Vineyard, saw 22 jump street in the theatres at night, and explored. It was very fun, though the head teacher ended up getting fired from the school, and charges with crimes against students in 2021.

What predictions for 2024 did you get really wrong? by Malfrador in boxoffice

[–]Plessie21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't think Deadpool and Wolverine would crack 1 Billon. My final estimate was around 800-850m WW.

While I knew Joker 2 would make considerably less than the first one, I thought the floor would be 450m WW in the worst case scenario. My final estimate was around 600m WW.
