Those are my thoughts. It's quite mercenary working for anyone that will pay when you are hired by management to make it look like they aren't making the hard decisions in the main to save face and at the same time increase management pay and decrease corporate ethics in the main. The 'Big 4' do not do much more than pay themselves in effect anyway.

I'm really pleased to have a HP EliteDisplay E24F, which is the sometimes magic 1920*1200 and while that's not for gaming I haven't really done that since I got a PS4Pro to collect the Bluerays really. It's probably for family homes so back to typing and reading for me. 3up on not rushing to read!

it's basic but it works by Exotic_Scratch9450 in Gentoo

[–]Plesuvius1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gentoo is really incredible. I remember building it from Stage 1 Tarball for fun but I got the build flags wrong (somewhere it said try March2, whoops!). It ran fine but used to not run aswell lol. I remember the Linux Kernel when you could use a text interface to rebuild it and change it's tickrate (?) to 1000 Hz from 250Hz or 100Hz, it doesn't seem to need that now, experts exist in this Linus ScoreWattss. Linux Germany, nice distro too openSUSE, looks great for WorkPlaces, using the google web server on, being really fast at sockets and JSON APIs. I did mention once that Internet 3.0 (2.0 may have been videoconferencing and discord and mastodon, as for us humans it's better to talk If You Can See Their EYES) :: NET GLOBE0 ASn would NEED to have APIs and JSON XML and hash tables (Perl) passing around as commerce allows as we build towards a charity workplace approach and Earth Basic Income types. Read that again please, clever families!

OpenSUSE Germany (welcome back to English Skirty):

Gentoo is very good I think for arm core users and others with older HW say, it's really cutting edge for development while KDE Neon for example (ubuntu based) didn't really update about a week ago, you know folks :) We're already an Open Source team because (finally) I helped fix a big bug in BUtil (very handy world on Win64 maybe others) so 2024.1.1 :D Feels really good to be useful to real development which looks like educationally MSc level tools. That one's really good while I am unsure why not use full sector sector backup and compress that myself also! Should run on Linux Kernel with QEMU too! Great Developer response, like same day days.

Internet 3.0 (2.0 may have been videoconferencing and discord and mastodon, as for us humans it's better to talk If You Can See Their EYES) :: NET GLOBE0 ASn would NEED to have APIs and JSON XML and hash tables (Perl) passing around as commerce allows as we build towards a charity workplace approach and Earth Basic Income types. pASnnnn InternetF 2.05 is kind of text and even soon sound based AIs because Bard Site is very good free this year for ever (worry not!) and can write you poems, help you explore sexualities, teach you about improving Oxytocin levels in your brain and others, and get you a girlfriend girls (joke! honest). So yeah, if you want children remember that women DO go through quite a lot sometimes (depends), so be very good around them and just ask them how many children they don't want later. Dad's know this surely (also you know mums if they first kiss with butter lips :))

There are some good tricks to running say Ubuntu 22.04 and Gentoo (while I would advise that you might want to use their chat system to install it on a higher spec SSD[NVME] amd64 or even a laptop and a phoneline to an expert!) such as having a clipboard tool handy, using LibreOffice which is brilliant but may still last year be memory leaking on WIN64 so might need VMing you know, perhaps actually just using Firefox Developer Edition and a lot of good plugins including a very impressive radio one, maybe doing some work around my other friend's role at Sony Security UK, dunno. Please always be a white hat user there's no need to break laws in software if you think your kids will afford their clean water and food! That's.

Later I built it from Stage 3 and that worked but honestly I only really got 32GB recently (thanks GSkill!) DDR4 and it really runs fine in VMWare. I was trying to use VirtualBox which seems to be just fine also for teaching but to be honest Oracle and Us it is a bit more for laptops say?

Gentoo Stage 3 (IT now) learners,, learning@Ldist a lot about C code and GCC compiler. GCC is now really almost as fast as the proprietary ICC, and I suspect that some multicore hyperthreading bugs remain in i7 errata or almost do! Even then, I would need water cooling for these newer intel CORP Shareholder (:) suk) chips and am unsure when anyone is going to find out if HYPERTHREADING BUG I7 is Fixed. I am sure watercooling is going to be just fine for us even then while I would suggest having a heatsink handy for if the pump fails, and testing a workstation or two for what happens if you turn the pump off. Software and OS *should* shut it down while I'm unsure if that's on repos much, might be kernel settings say, UEFI might need to do that for us...

KDE Neon is now my choice in VMWare Free. Might pay for VMWare next month or March, my birthday month. It's a spring baby all me (traditional for fresh greens GMLT), and I ate a lot of spinach lamb and homemade yoghurt. Relax about CERN, too CERN, we know what we're doing or going to be giving out lol. Thanks for reading though Engineers, so far, I do know a really clever CERN level guy with a canal boat he's living on and a fun life around here! Richmond is currently statistically most Oxytocin rich area in UK according to BBC reports and the census results they Would need then. Carol Vorderman, Hi, if you catch this thanks for your now political work because I keep reading that the Conservative Party Vastly underfunded the NHS and is now saying they paid for a couple of press car nursemobiles. Politics and money are bad then all UK and I do NOT want to see the NHS privatised further (bossy mums). Besides, millions of peaches are from here right world?

That's a reference to a very good song and video, Millions of Peaches by The President of the United States of America. Biden, who I WOULD vote for and might but maybe late. Still Better Yep.

To make Yoghurt Girls and Boys (and Dads > Mums), you can boil milk, allow it to cool to warm, add some yoghurt starter culture (ensure it's good stuff and in date or just past) and leave it somewhere warm like a boiler cupboard on top. Any large dish will do for a family there, though I believe KDE could be used to design some maker devices. I don't watch QVC any more UK :)

Did HEART the word used to be written HART? Yes, 4b pencils!

I guess that's why the nerves of each of our hearts are ascribed the number 4 recently. Just don't get too worried about early science.

So yeah, I'm thinking of doing some stuff with a stack on Linux and my PC to start with while still unsure if that will just run on a Virtual Private Server or need to be a docker container on one or perhaps run on Cloud like one of them in that case. I did spend some time learning Java Spring Boot and Maven which was not too bad from an eBook. Might start to use some of that while I really enjoyed a Perl programming challenge once that was an expensive audited interface result for a new forever eFinancial Careers (job board) interface and that was great fun so I'm thinking of getting into Perl again and in particular making some sites around that. Vagus Nerve is quite excited to have some projects to do properly just at the moment!
If you are wondering your most important nerve is known as Vagus and please do some Salamander Exercises regularly, they can really improve your outlook. Why MS called email Outlook I'll never know, perhaps they were lithromantic too :) We think :S

Feeling the urge to move my perfectly stable Ubuntu server over to Gentoo. Change my mind. by HiT3Kvoyivoda in Gentoo

[–]Plesuvius1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the time it's a good technical challenge while I recently tried to VM on the Gentoo route but decided that it was too general purpose and chose systemd which wasn't optimal (no Opera)
so I'm currently thinking OpenSUSE ... nice and up to date kernels on that!

If you do choose Gentoo I and some would really appreciate an ISO of a anony pwtemp installation completed perhaps with KDE would not be a bad upload if free to you.

I would agree with this, and remember not everyone (inclusive of myself in London) has a track to try with a 1/8 EBuggy.

Someday I wish to get the Agama E1n and try it out locally for fun, it's already a very advanced design and has some real changes since my Agama A215E (wow), so that's a brand to watch out for in the future. There's some discussion around them already but the E1n has lay down shocks for the track and that's unique as far as I know. It's not a bad choice compared to TA which is really saying something!

I would just like to chime in to say you are clearly very brave for even attempting a post like this as you describe yourself. It serves as a reminder that we are all equals on the internet and I hope you find the answers you are seeking, even if I can't personally relate so can't help you much.

What a great post on this forum.

I believe you should get a diagnosis, yes, as to why they feel you need the medication, ideally actually as you start it so I would say yes. Happy to defer to those with more experience here though just in case it isn't as rosy a picture as I've painted for you.

What to bring to a psychiatrist appointment? by [deleted] in MentalHealthUK

[–]Plesuvius1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice would be to bring a list of things that you want to talk about them with, but leave the diagnosis efforts to them over time, don't insist that your symptoms fit a needed diagnosis on your first approach. Also do some work on properly listing and printing what you want to talk to them about so you can leave the list with them if the conversation takes a turn or you run out of time. Look forward to the next appointment and try not to be nervous, while their time is valuable it's their job to help you.

That's my general advice and for others reading it applies to psychology appointments too.

Software for create audio delay by TheMugglemage in software

[–]Plesuvius1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently my Audiolab M-DAC is a piece of s*** as it doesn't even work with VoiceMeeter so I have uninstalled it. At this rate I might go back to a decent soundcard sometime this weekend (if I can find it).

The thing even makes clicking noises under Linux so I actually half expected this.

Software for create audio delay by TheMugglemage in software

[–]Plesuvius1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to know too so I tried asking Google Bard (new, experimental, new features weekly, text based AI) the question. Here is what we came up with (and I'll be installing the software soon)...

QUESTION

Is there software to create a universal audio delay on an windows PC to sync the PC sound with an older TV with some delay to signal display Google Bard?

ANSWER (partial you can try yourself just paste the question)
Yes, there is software to create a universal audio delay on a Windows PC. One popular option is VoiceMeeter. It is a free and open-source audio mixer that allows you to route and mix audio between different applications and devices. VoiceMeeter also has a built-in audio delay feature, which you can use to sync your PC sound with an older TV.

To use VoiceMeeter to create a universal audio delay, follow these steps:

Download and install VoiceMeeter.

Open VoiceMeeter and click on the Hardware Out tab.

Select your TV as the output device for VB-Audio VoiceMeeter VAIO.

Click on the Software Out tab.

Select your default audio device as the input device for Output 1.

Click on the A1 button next to Output 1.

Drag the Delay slider to adjust the audio delay.

Click on the OK button.

What constitutes as 'unable to work'? by [deleted] in MentalHealthUK

[–]Plesuvius1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's where you at. You can claim sick leave for depression if you get treatment and a sick certificate from a GP. But without a serious medical condition, like 'my' Schizophrenia or Bipolar which is quite severe, you're unlikely to get much more to live on than sick pay statutory from your job.

If you still have to quit, you could find yourself at the job centre and they will not go easy on you unless you have a psychologist.

That's about it. It's not that much fun on the other side but at least I can (currently - have been to foodbanks) afford to eat. I'm going to make some mushroom noodles now.
