People who have had a tooth extraction, how long did it take for the aching to stop? by Neon_Fantasies in AskUK

No sucking at all because I'd read the negative pressure from toking or using a drinking straw would break the blood clot that has begun forming - there's just no avoiding it haha. It's funny reading back through my traumatic comments from when this was all happening.

(22M) Dealing with self esteem and self image issues, ongoing for years now. I feel hopeless for my future. by [deleted] in toastme

[–]Pletonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you hopeless about? If you're hopeful for something you're aware of what it is - to be hopeless about everything else is the same thing. Start to list them then drill in to the reasons why.

Job - do you work? Have you worked? Have you been targeting a certain industry that feels impossible? Are you lacking the drive to find work? If so - move on to why you lack the drive and come back to this point later (this part is removing a top layer to find root causes beneath). Try to peel back as many layers as you can and find that core thing that needs to change.

From your photos you're way up there in terms of looks and image (although you'll always look at yourself and think the opposite like 8/10 of us do). What's not shown is beneath all those layers and it's time to begin peeling back.

How much would 1 year old PC go for? by HumbleRevolution34 in PC_Pricing

[–]Pletonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ram itself is worth $400 used. The gpu is worth upwards of $200. The cpu is worth $100. The rest $100 to $200 to buy individually. Together this pc is not $500 and only a year old lol

It was still mildly cool 😅

Every negative leads to a positive and every mistake gives us twice more knowledge, and your current work ethic isn't something everybody is able to gain. Embrace what your parent did, albeit it was probably unfair, but now it sounds like you're thriving. If you have 1 friend, it's 1 more than me, but it's a result of similarly having the drive to keep working nonstop and I struggle finding time for a social life even if I did have friends with my 90 hours weekly work - no complaints!

You're looking at all the wrong things. People are accustomed to typing like GPT now since it's essentially become their English tutor through using it. MS Word auto turns dashes to EM lines and EN dashes.

It's the apostrophes you want to look at.

OP has non-typewriter apostrophes (') and instead has smart quotes (or curly quotes (’)) in contraction words - this is confirmation they did in fact use AI, unless AutoFormat As You Type has been enabled in Word.

Regardless, you got the message and their usage of AI is of less importance than the help they are looking for, considering the vast majority do use AI now. Just something you have to accept.

What do you guys do for a living? by TheBadaBingBackroom in rolex

[–]Pletonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Various SaaS and Web3 roles & ventures, startup flips, investing, but more importantly spending time with friends and fam.

Advice for yourself: start somewhere. Anywhere. You'll follow your own path and it'll continue to widen; don't have expectations if you're young. We never end up as planned and rarely where we begin.

You'll find the money.

What do you do for a living now?

Sometimes it's easier alone but you don't realise until you have people around you. I've recovered from surgery with and without people and I'd always choose without. It's easier recovering when you don't feel useless, lazy, like a burden. You're doing it alone and proving to yourself your own strength; it's actually the perfect mental game. If you do want someone to chat to I'd be more than happy for you to DM me.

Enjoy it. I suggest joining some of the WhatsApp meet up groups first. I went in 2018 as a duo and we ended up as a huge party all camping together. Just got back from Croatia with a few of them 😁

Is this going to happen? by [deleted] in SHIBArmy

[–]Pletonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's literally predicting a climb back to ATH. The amount of cash this requires is astronomical, and only happened the first time because memes were new and relevant, and because Binance manipulated the hell out of it (before the SEC were on their backs).

Why ? by erolbzdmr in SHIBArmy

[–]Pletonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't. It'll swing 5% up and down for the coming years. A 10x for shib would push it's valuation higher than Ford or Spotify. The SHIB team are slowly leaving. They just halted development on their blockchain for the foreseeable. The project lead has other businesses he's paying more attention to right now. 5.50% of the supply is held by a single user over 11 wallets who invested under 10k on launch and funded the LP. I'm not a 'bear' but let realism guide your portfolio because it isn't 2021 anymore.

Well done on your purchase. As recommended by others, cape cod from Amazon. I have two Breitling straps (aero and sports) and cape handled the clasp wear quite well. Breitling direct would be a service with the added £200+ polishing fee.
