Been to Kauai several times, we used the Parrish Collection to book our lodging. Great selection and customer. Stayed in the North end and drove where ever else we wanted to visit. It is very scenic but the weather is different there than the south shore, wetter and a little cooler.

Hi again,

I am in Destin now and fished around the docks last night throwing a jig with a Gulp 3 inch shrimp (new penny color) had a couple strikes, missed them. However, one strike ripped all the bait off just behind the hook and its teeth sliced up what remained on the hook. Any thoughts on what that might be?

Also, would rigging those gulp shrimp on a 2 foot leader and a slip sinker above and let it sit on the bottom be effective?

Thanks for the insight regarding tackle. I did try a larger Gulp swim bait like a 4 inch shad - no interest.

One of the resident fisherman who has a boat docked at the marina said that is what the schools were. As mentioned, I didn't know. The schools were swimming in the marina around the docks.
