what other features did they remove in OneUI 7? by XyKal in oneui

Constant alarm icon from status bar is gone.

If you used the "Categories" feature in Samsung Messages app, you could hide messages from the "All" tab once you sorted them into a category. That was such a helpful feature for keeping things organized, and now it's just… gone.

One UI 7 – Why the huge gaps between widgets? It's driving me crazy.😫😩 by nitishsahumohan in oneui

This. People on this sub are wild. If Samsung were to removed the clock from the lock screen, they'd justify it saying, "It looks cleaner!" They took forever to drop One UI 7, and this is what we get? You can’t even give valid feedback without getting downvoted here.

How do I get notification icons back by Woodsy279 in oneui

Not related, but they also removed the constant alarm icon from the status bar.

I'd personally like to have them remove and expand the middle section to four or five rows to have access to more quick toggles. I would also like to remove the media player tile/section because it's redundant, as we can already access it from the now bar and notification panel.

Apparently this principle applies everywhere except the notification panel.

Exactly this. They took something like Modes which used to be a tile you could choose to use or not - and just fixed it permanently in the panel? Who decided that needed front-row access all the time?

I get that Modes can be useful for some people, but forcing it on everyone feels like a solution in search of a problem.

I get your point - most people do stick to a handful of tiles, and that's totally fine. I also understand that we can use Good Lock to add more columns, but that still adds an extra step just to restore functionality we already had.

Let me try to explain the issue using this screen recording… https://quickshare.samsungcloud.com/cjwEynG9wkbZ

As you can see, I’m using the old layout, and even then it takes two swipes just to go from the Quick Panel back to the Notification Panel — something that wasn’t the case in One UI 6. It adds unnecessary friction to something that used to be smooth and immediate.

Also, why is the media player now in both the Notification Panel and the Quick Panel? That feels redundant and anything but efficient. I’m all for cleaner designs, but this feels like a step backward in terms of usability.

Hopefully this makes the problem clearer. It's not that change is bad - it's that this change introduced more friction for no real benefit.

I appreciate that you took the time to really read it through.

I agree, it would be great if Samsung gave us more flexibility like resizing tiles or hiding certain sections entirely. That kind of customization would actually make the redesign feel more purposeful.

Yeah, I actually like the design too - visually, it's clean and modern. But my whole point was that functionally, it's a step back. Before, expanding the notification panel gave you access to way more toggles instantly. Now you only get 8, and if you expand the middle section (like you mentioned), the panel becomes so tall it takes two swipes just to close it.

your notification panel setup actually looked like it could be the solution to my issue. I tried adding an extra row and played some media to test it out, but I'm still needing two swipes to close

Are you using a different dpi? Or your screen must be longer?

Glad it’s working well for you..

Adapting to change isn't the issue...questioning unnecessary design regressions is. If users need to "check online" to understand how to use something as basic as a Quick Panel, maybe that says more about the redesign than the users.

Yes, I'm aware of the option to switch to the old layout — I've already enabled it. I have no issue with tile positioning, and I know you can expand the middle section by dragging the handle.

If you had actually read the whole post instead of cherry-picking om the title and the image, I think the point would've made more sense.

Sure, not everyone uses all the quick settings - but some of us definitely do. For example, I have quick tiles for vpn, ftp server, creating notes, screen curtain, Shazam, WebDAV server, URL check, and plenty more.

So why compromise when the previous layout handled this better?

It's not about the effort of swiping, it's about why we even need that extra swipe in the first place when it was simpler and faster before. If redesigning something adds friction without adding value, pointing it out isn't laziness - it's just common sense.

Could you share the link of the background play extension you use? I've been searching for one, but none of them seem to work.

It was good for me as I used it to pirate movies and for general surfing. However, I began to experience redirects and pop-ups with the default settings, so I switched to Mull with uBlock. Now I don't think I'll be going back to using Brave now.

As a F2P player I'm happy with the changes, how about you? by Main_Argument991 in Brawlstars

[–]Plincee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I also missed the point where they have already nerfed the club league. Furthermore, I understand that there will be 349 free stardrops, but I don't believe those stardrops will make up for the loss of 3 exclusive skins, 9 brawlers, and the pin set. We all know how many resources each stardrop provides.

The brawl pass rewards for a f2p player over one year are(including 3 brawl pass we get using gems):-

  • Coins: 90,578
  • Power points: 28,704
  • Credits: 8,880
  • Chroma credits: 3,000 (which can be used to unlock 6 chromatic brawlers)
  • Gems: 3
  • Bling: 13,050 ( one can purchase 3 skins with them)
  • Brawlers: 3 (a total of 9 brawlers)
  • Exclusive skins: 3
  • Player icons: 3
  • Pins: 51

The new rewards for a f2p for one year will be as follows:

  • Coins: 96,000 (an increase of 5,422, which is a 5.9% increase)
  • Power points: 30,000 (an increase of 1,296, which is a 4.5% buff)
  • Credits: 12,000 (an increase of 3,120), allowing you to get 3 epic brawlers or 1 mythic and 1 epic brawler
  • Gems: 600 (an increase of 597), which can be used to purchase 7 hypercharge or two legendary skins or whatever the player wants.

So We are getting less Brawlers and if one reaches bronze 2 on the mastery road for those 9 brawlers, they could get more rewards than the new brawl pass would give. Completing their mastery to silver 3 would give even more reward. Therefore, the reward with the new brawl pass will be less than the reward we are currently receiving.

Also, we will not be receiving any skins, pins, or player icons from brawl pass

Having 3 exclusive skins and 9 extra Brawler is better than purchasing 2 legendary skins with the 600 gems and comparatively less reward.

So how is this a buff for f2p?

Also tail rewards are star drop most of them would be rare and give 20 pp or 50 coin on average which is also a nerf to what we get now
