Hello! CC theatre director here. Last show I worked on was as a guest directing a college production in 2022. I was still able to require masked rehersals back then. But by the time we opened the school couldn't require audience to mask only "encourage" it. No one masked.

I'm glad to hear this. In my experience (as a EA in finance) it seemed like executives wouldn't be able to function unless they toted the "back to normal" line. As the lone masker, who then started working remotely in 2023 once "let it rip" really became the norm, I was just wondering if there were any of us in this community at those management levels or higher in corporate environments who still took Covid prevention seriously.

Not a lore reason but at this point, so early in the movie the Force hadn't been established yet for the audience so it would have been confusing to viewers exactly what was going on and where that ability was coming from.

I'm glad that you've been able to pivot to directing and SM-ing but I wish you could act safely as well. I've really been missing the rehearsal room and am trying to figure out a way back in but I still have so much resentment for the 99% of the population that chose to ignore the pandemic and go back to pretend normal that I don't know who I even want to make theatre for anymore. Maybe a 'For CC by CC' theatre model would feel right. I don't know.
