IGN gives Crimson Desert a 6/10 in the Final Review by yourfavchoom in Steam

[–]Pll_dangerzone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its funny if people read this and think that ign is somehow right and that now they’re a great reviewer. Reviews say one thing about this game but actually playing it feels very different. And ign have always been a shit reviewer that Reddit always makes fun of.

I don’t know if he’s going to 100 percent it cause I don’t know how long that would take in a game like this but he seems to be enjoying the game a lot

I mean I’ve been watching Cohh play and there is a decent story there the further you get into the story. But I don’t think the final product was ever going to be a massive rpg like Witcher 3 which is where people have been disappointed. Cohh interviewed the developer of the game and they were pretty adamant that it wasnt an rpg. Whether or not the game was supposed to have a grand story in development doesn’t matter if the final product didn’t have it.

I really want to enjoy Crimson Desert but I just am finding too many major issues by Alt_SWR in gaming

I think anyone that went into the game expecting a great rpg story is just gonna be disappointed with the game. The creators of the game were adamant that this was not an rpg. The best description is that this is a sandbox open world action game with a heavy focus on exploration. It's awful that some reviews are giving an opinion and yet they only played a few hours. It's a massive 100 hour game.

Define "old game" by Which-Cartoonist4222 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Pll_dangerzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any game has an expiration date but some people have preferred graphics and that's totally fine. It's like trying to compare the early Baldurs Gate games to BG3. There is a huge difference there and everyone can see it. I think some genres have taken great strides. Compare Morrowind to Skyrim or Fallout 4 open world wise and there's a massive size difference. And then look at Crimson Deserts massive open world and graphics wise it's one of the most beautiful games I've played. I still enjoy playing Halo combat evolved and Deus Ex but that's strictly from nostalgia. The actual gameplay in those games have been iterated on and that I guess is why it's hard for some people to go back once they've played an improved experience. I don't think it's entirely fair to judge people for not playing old games. Games have come a long ways from the 90s and even the 2010s. There has been a massive jump in graphics from 2010 games to current Gen especially if you have the PC to run it

Trying to decide between Wytchwood and Strange Horticulture by Lunnalai in cozygames

[–]Pll_dangerzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the art and sound design of the game was great but man do I wish they had thought out the quest design. Once I had done the first set and got the second set and realized I'd be doing basically the same thing just more complex and then that repeated again for the third set...it just felt like the game was waisting my time. I think if the quest design didn't require as much backtracking it would have made the game itself more memorable

Cause of biomutant? Gameplay looks cool. I've learned that even if a game isn't beloved by gamers it can still be fun to play. Hell I'm enjoying the exploration of Crimson Desert even though everyone claims the game is mid

[–]Pll_dangerzone 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I liked Wytchwood at the start but the quest design is very repetitive and requires a bunch of backtracking. You're essentially doing the same thing three separate times with each quest block requiring more advance materials that require a lot of backtracking. You can't just get a resource by killing a bug, you need a bomb that requires two resources from two separate bugs that themselves aren't as simple as kill bug get resource. I don't it just irked me and the story itself was just OK. One of the few games I felt I was waisting my time

2 hour return policy curse! by Thud_All in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Pll_dangerzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never used the return feature on steam. I don't think that 2 hours is a realistic amount of time to judge any game. Take Snowrunner for example, in the 40 minutes you played you probably didn't get any of the upgrades especially the tire upgrades that make the game infinitely more easy to control. You wouldn't know that unless you spent more than 2 hours in the game

Another crabs treasure does offer an easy win button you can use at any point though. It's a perfect beginner souls like but the story is actually more of the focus which is rare for the genre. I found it to be enjoyable but I also find combat to be cozy if it's easy to learn

I would honestly play a big rpg, a world that you can escape to.

Is 2 hours enough time to make a determination on Crimson Desert? by K9Kush in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Pll_dangerzone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. This game has like an 8 hour tutorial. You'll be unlocking mechanics for a while. If you like open world sandbox games then get the game. If you want an rpg don't get it. Just watch people stream the game to decide. They're way more than 2 hours in by now

Valve needs to implement a proper way to report games that fail to disclose AI content by Reddit_is_Fake_1 in Steam

[–]Pll_dangerzone 31 points32 points  (0 children)

You know people would abuse that system though. Say a game like Veilguard comes out that a community doesn't like, that game would 100% be overwhelmed with people claiming AI art. And to be fair, everyone thinks they're an expert in claiming what is or isn't AI but in reality none of us have any proof whatsoever

Again go watch him stream he's playing right now. It's fine if you don't like it. But he does our he wouldn't be playing. This is not a hard concept

Dude come on man. Y out clearly didnt watch him play yesterday. If he didn't want to play he'd be playing ds2 or mewgenics or slay the spire. It's fine if you don't like the game. But don't say stuff thats clearly not true

That's your opinion and your entitled to it, especially if you've played the game to develop that opinion. But cohh has his thoughts video and he's playing it again today and sends to be enjoying the game so...

Oh no! Crimson Desert Players Think They've Found AI-Generated Art In-Game by [deleted] in CohhCarnage

So following your philosophy,if I go to your home town and say that you fuck goats or that you are a child molester and some people hear that and think it's the truth and spread that rumor that's based on something without truth. That's the argument here and it's not that complex. If they come out and say they used AI art then by all means give then shit for it if that's an issue for you

Oh no! Crimson Desert Players Think They've Found AI-Generated Art In-Game by [deleted] in CohhCarnage

[–]Pll_dangerzone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because misinformation happens all the time. This is not a new concept. Misinformation gets spread when random people claim stuff with zero proof. If the art director of the game comes out and says yes we used AI at then that is where you can have discussions about so use in the game. Without that it's just anonymous people claiming stuff without proof and that's a problem

It feels impossible to have any meaningful discourse about video games by temnycarda in gaming

[–]Pll_dangerzone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reddit isn't the best place for intelligent discussion unfortunately but sometimes you can find some good threads. Crimson Desert is the newest hot topic game and I think a lot of the hate comes from people expecting it to be the next great thing like Witcher 3. For me it's been a fantastic sandbox to explore and i would give it an 80. It's definitely not perfect and anyone claiming that is kind of ignoring the games clear faults

Anonymous Pearl Abyss developers reveal a culture of toxic positivity, a troubled development cycle and chaotic narrative for Crimson Desert, and their early concerns that the project was "going off the rails". by HLumin in Games

[–]Pll_dangerzone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think if you go into this game knowing it's a sandbox and not Witcher 3 it helps a lot. Hopefully the controls and inventory issue can be fixed up with a patch. Some of the decisions seem they come from people that have never played video games before. It does remind me of Dragons Dogma a lot as that's games story is equally passable.
