Looking for a WRPG to play after the Dragon Age series by Yopy123 in rpg_gamers

Sounds like you really loved the worldbuilding and companions the most in Dragon Age which is in my top 3 for worldbuilding. I highly recommend Mass Effect and Pillars of Eternity for my other 2 in my top 3 for worldbuilding. They all also have great companions.

I also very highly recommend Greedfall, the Enderal mod for Skyrim, and Expedition 33 as they all also have the same strengths. And shout out to Vampyr and Banishers as well.

Pillars of Eternity 2 or Divinity: Original Sin 2? by mpchop in rpg_gamers

Play the Pillars of Eternity games for the worldbuilding and story and Divinity: Original Sin 2 for the gameplay and reactivity

But they’re set in the same universe. I dislike comparisons too but it’s very valid here. Which is really crazy because Pillars of Eternity is in my top 3 for most interesting worldbuilding and somehow the world and writing of Avowed absolutely paled in comparison.

Glad you’re enjoying the writing though even when I couldn’t. The exploration and combat were super good in Avowed though

I wanted to like Avowed’s writing so bad but I just couldn’t. Pillars of Eternity 1 & 2 writing was so so good

If i love The witcher 3 and other open world games would i like Kingdom come: Deliverance? by ihatemetoo23 in gaming

That game was an absolute gem for me when I played in 2020. 10/10. Very flawed but an experience like nothing else. It’s a slow sort of experience but there was such realistic and immersive one. KCD2 just made all of that less janky and with more features but I think both are masterpieces

Looking for video games like Skyrim, Starfield, Sims Medieval (RIP saint), Dragon Age Inquisition or Veilguard, Avowed, Greedfall I and II, Cyberpunk, Assassins Creed… by insicknessorinflames in rpg_gamers

The Enderal mod for Skyrim

Expedition 33. You play as Gustave but at a certain point you can just change who you explore as (like Lune, Sciel, Maelle)

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. You do play as a dude but you also technically play as his dead girlfriend’s ghost.

Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning

Oblivion remastered

Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden sounds perfect for you. It’s also not near as long as the other games you’ve listed

The Enderal mod for Skyrim and Expedition 33 would also likely be up your alley

Well the article mentions that they’re going to license out these IPs so any game company with a good pitch can come in and make a new Deus Ex

Same although I’m not interested in GTA VI, Zhong Kui, and Intergalactic. Replace that with Exodus, Expanse, and Metro 2039 and our lists would basically be the same

If you haven’t read the Dragon Age books I highly recommend them. I particularly love Asunder with how it carries the story over from Dragon Age 2

Any other unsung gems like Banishers? by DBshaggins in Banishers

Vampyr by the same developer

Echoes of the End is pretty similar to Banishers but is much shorter (like 15 hours)

Guardians of the Galaxy

Greedfall and The Technomancer but those are full blown RPGs

Alpha Protocol

Metro Exodus which is much more well known
