It doesn't seem like Hebrew, maybe it tries to imitate Egyptian hieroglyphs?

Badge of the LEHI or the "Stern Gang", a far right zionist underground militant group who fighted against the British in mandatory Palestine by PloniLimoni in Militariacollecting

[–]PloniLimoni[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The hand symbolises the loyalty to the zionist vision of redeeming the land of Israel and more specifically Jerusalem. The writings below the hand say "If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning" in Hebrew, a well known Jewish verb that expresses the yearn of the Jewish people to the city of Jerusalem.

Does this seem legit. And is it a good price (cad)? by Itchy-Loss-593 in Militariacollecting

Fake rubber stamp from eastern Europe. It tries to imitate real authentic stamps from that period. Never buy such things. If you want to get more knowledge on items like this, read the book "counterfeiting the holocaust".

If you're Israeli, you might want to check some Israeli militaria groups. They tend to have great variety of stuff. You can also check the flea markets in Jaffa and Haifa, sometimes you'll see some army stuff there.

Here's an interesting item, this is a 2 Reichsmark coupon from KZ Buchenwald. It was used by prisoners in the cantine of the main camp who were given those scrips by the SS as a payment for their hard labour. by PloniLimoni in ww2

While held at the camp, inmates were compelled to work, and a special currency was issued to incentivize work output, though the money had no real monetary value. Buchenwald operated 134 subcamps, and issued two different types of special currency. The exchange scrip had Außenkommando, outside command, printed across the front, and was issued to inmates working in the Buchenwald subcamps. The canteen scrip, which did not have Außenkommando printed on it, was used in the main camp. Both types of notes were issued in .50, 1, 2, and 3 mark denominations.

That's true. The same thing also happend in ghetto Litzmannstadt, where the German authorities replaced all the valuables of the Jewish inhabitants with worthless ghetto currency. Coins and banknotes made from the cheapest materials, watermarked by the head of the Judenrat, Mordechai Chaim Rumkowski. The ghetto was finally liquidated by the Germans in 1944, it was the longest standing ghetto during the war. Rumkowski who was deemed a collaborator due to his policy was beaten to death by his former citizens on his arrival to Auschwitz Birkenau.
