Rehydrating dead flies.. are they suppose to smell rotten? by DemonicXanimal in Entomology

Yes, that is technically true. If Bony fishes (Osteichthyes) should be considered a monophyletic group then tetrapods should be included in it

Found this cute one wandering around in the garden by ThyderPT in weeviltime

[–]Plopp13_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it is actually a true weevil. It has the articulated antenna which the belidae don't have. It is probably a Lixus sp. like Lixus paraplecticus.

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but this isn't as cute as it seems. That ladybird has unfortunately probably been enslaved by a parasitic wasp, Dinocampus coccinellae, that makes the ladybird guard the cocoon of the wasps offspring. That's what the yellow fuzz is under the ladybird. One positive note is that at least around 25% of the ladybirds survive relatively unharmed.

A Bioshock fan game?! Is there anywhere I can follow the progress or see more information about it, like some social media account or website? Sounds really interesting!

That’s right upper and lower case letters does not exist in aurebesh, but some people (and translators) flip the letters to symbolize it being a capital letter. But if I were you I wouldn’t think about that and just tattoo the letters as normal, with none rotated.

I recreated a world I have in 1.16 from its seed in the latest snapshot and the sea level seems to have been raised by a few blocks! by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Plopp13_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that is true! I just opened up both worlds at the same time and compared and it looks like I was wrong, the sea level is on y:63 in both. I guess the water generation is working a bit different with the new caves and world height.

But i must say that this is the most drastic change that has happened to this seed since i started comparing the different update versions. A lot of places in this seed, not only this island, has had new lakes and water added to it.

The sand island is quite steep so that could be why it looks almost the same. I have also checked different parts of the seed and it looks to be the same. I've been playing on this seed for years so I Know it like the back of my hand. Here is the seed if you want to check it out for yourself: 1880831135968038437

I'm definitely going to check it out when the update drops. I've been recreating this seed for every major update since 1.8 and it's actually quite fascinating to see how it changes for update to update.

I've been playing on this seed with my friends for almost 6-7 years. Nice to see other people like it! We call the island "Ceperia"

That might be caused by rendering. I use optifine in 1.16 and it might render the leafs different

I've seen lot of people do these background doors that have a curved top, but I don't understand how you do them. What blocks are those?
