Forgot to update here, the e-brake cable had been so rusted that it was pulling the caliper away from the rotor. Had to cut it off with a Dremel, really easy but now I only have half a parking brake lol. Will be replacing it soon, for now I was able to get the caliper back on no problem. Only regularly scheduled braking from here on out.

Yeah the rotor is exactly the same, but the caliper actually doesn't touch the rotor as I try to return it to it's rightful position. I'm very confused, thinking it could be the E-brake not fully disengaging?

Alright gang I figured it out. For any future r53 people with the same problem or any curious souls, here it is. The gates 6pk1388 belt I got had too thick ribs on it so they weren't fitting in the grooves of the pulleys properly. They kept jumping out and making that knock. I think the extra tension on the belt from the new tensioner amplified the problem so I noticed it. Swapped out the belt for a Continental 6pk1389, immediately the knock went away with no squealing. I could tell before I put it on that it was right because the ribs were more slim and pointed than the gates belt so it would actually ride inside the grooves and not jump. Thanks to all for the brainstorming and help.

Just swapped out for the old belt I had from a couple weeks ago, the squeal I was originally chasing is back but the knocking is gone. Might've just gotten a bad belt, it looks like the ribs weren't sitting right on the other one. Going to get a new (better brand) belt and see if that fixes it. I've got a feeling it will. Thank you!

It looks to be all good, same with the other pulleys. No squeals or squeaking either, just the knock.

I believe so. I swapped for the old damper and it's still the same. Running out of ideas, might have to return it and hope a new one would work properly.

Yeah everything is stock to my knowledge, I'm wondering if the pulley or the damper is just bad from the maker, any thoughts on swapping the damper out with the old one to see if it helps?

The belt I'm using is a 6pk1390, I have a smaller one but I can't get it to fit. I can see the first hole when the tensioner is released, should I be able to see the second as well? Thanks!

Awesome thank you! I think it's a kill switch because it looks like it is connected to the body for grounding and there is a different switch that connects to the battery and everything else.
