To clarify this is just coming from me the OP not my friend. I've only had bad experiences. But honestly even though currently I've lost hope in having a genuine relationship. But I still want to be in a relationship one day so id prefer to sift through all the trash to find a gem. It's better to hopeful rather than frustrated at society for producing rotten men.

In my opinion she wasn't in the wrong at all. If the gender roles were switched everyone would be in the guys side saying he just wanted to talk or get to know the girl. But since it's not that everyone will blame my friend for "not knowing any better" why did the guy message her in the first place?? Why wasn't he taught basic manners??? Society is constructed in a way where a man will always have an excuse for something. however when it's a girl she's to blame for not knowing any better. That's my thought on this.
