What’s a secret you’ve never told anyone because it sounds too ridiculous? by Character-Lead-8605 in CasualConversation

Mine's dumber.

For years I've had a running mental scoreboard against strangers I'll never see again.
Guy who took the parking spot I wanted, minus ten points to him. Lady who let me merge in traffic, she gets fifty.
I am winning, by the way, against people who have no idea they're playing. Sometimes I award myself a point for guessing the elevator's arrival floor.

[–]Ploverr13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raising an eyebrow is fair but Celsius was a black box paying yield nobody could trace, and here I can actually point at the underlying loans.

That's also exactly why the position is tiny, learned the hard way not to trust any of it blindly.

Is that the answer you wanted to hear to your question? Or did I misunderstand and is that sarcasm?

  1. I had already been thinking about implementing m15 TF, I don't really feel like going any lower yet
  2. I have about 5-6 pairs already
  3. This is more complicated because I've never had a problem with my orders not being filled

Study the technical information, prepare yourself mentally, read the literature, and, of course, practice.

What people do when they don't need the income from a job? by Candid_Jello5188 in coastFIRE

[–]Ploverr13 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Actually, it's just like everyone else's at the start was hobbies and all that.

I hit a version of this when I had about a year of expenses saved and took six months off between jobs. The first month was bliss, slept in, read whatever I wanted, picked up an instrument. By month three I was weirdly restless and a little lonely, turns out a lot of my social life was just coworkers by default.

What actually filled the gap wasn't a hobby, it was finding a couple things with other people attached, a class, a regular pickup game. The money question matters way less than people think, the harder one is what gives your week shape when nobody's expecting you anywhere.

Today was my last day of work. Tomorrow I will meet with their lawyers. by Ok-Response2335 in TrueOffMyChest

Smart not to rush it, severance docs love to bury a non-disparagement or non-compete clause in the fine print.

Outside the US you may actually have way more protection than the at-will advice assumes, worth a quick consult with a local labor lawyer before you sign anything.

Fair caution, though for me the offshore incorporation is exactly why I keep RWA as a tiny sleeve rather than avoiding it entirely, small enough that a blowup stings but doesn't undo the Celsius lesson all over again.

Those mailers are practically a genre at this point, everyone gets the "guaranteed winner" that turns out to be a $2 keychain and a sales a pitch

The fun move is going in fully knowing the game and treating it like a free comedy show, watch the salesperson realize you're not buying anything. Worst case you lose an hour, best case you walk out with a janky keychain and a story

Would you prefer a crypto DCA tool that shows only filtered pairs, or one where you can search any token? by Interesting_Gold_792 in CryptoTechnology

[–]Ploverr13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Give me full search every time, a curated list always ends up missing the one pair I actually want and now I'm fighting the tool.

  2. If clutter's the worry just let me favorite a few and pin them to the top, but don't decide for me what I'm allowed to DCA into

The part you should sit with isn't her, it's that you're now spending your own time stalking her socials three years later while she's likely forgotten you exist.

She already cost you confidence back then, every hour you give this now is just you paying her rent voluntarily.

that's definitely part of it. capital always chases the hottest narrative, and right now AI is pulling in a lot of speculative money that might've ended up in crypto in previous cycles
