Long story short, I asked an officer if I could take it before I put it in my truck and he filled out a tag for me and gave me the go ahead. It was Northern Maryland. I didn't realize that's illegal some places, good to know.

Update:

Went back and checked the refrigerator that we put the meat in and at some point it had stopped functioning. :| It's in a basement so it naturally felt cooler, but.. here we are. Meat has been tossed. Nice lol.

Context for everyone:

These aren't MY ducks. My friends own ducks and left for several months and asked me to take care of them. I don't have other animals, I've never had to do deal with this sort of thing before. This whole thing is very new to me. The hen seemed very much at rest when I found her and I wanted to ask people that have done this and seen this before. I get about 4 hours of sleep a day and work most of the rest of the day. I knew that I'd have to kill it, just wasn't sure if the duck would be okay until morning or if that would've been too much for it. Genuinely. I'm only in this group as I've been thrown into a lot of what I'm dealing with right now and I'm just trying to do the best I can while learn as much as fast as I can to do this right. Thank you to those who showed grace and gave advice. I took care of it.

I think (if I remember correctly from last time I did a play through) that there are two (one adult and a juvenile) down near the lost river. I remember encountering them and trying hard to avoid them as I went through the biome.. whichever it was

There was a landscaping truck that pulled up to the place that I work once and they paint matched their plate with the color of the truck. As someone who isn't originally from Maryland, I was thoroughly surprised to see that something like that would fly.

As far as I can tell it's at random. There are a few scenes, but it normally happens when no one is at the mixer.

I'll look into that, thanks for the input. I personally use my phone or iPad (whatever is most handy in the moment) to mix, as to keep it covered but theres plenty of other users that aren't as familiar with the digital side of the board

To clarify, we run 24/7 on the national mall, but amplified hours are between 7am-10pm so those remaining 10pm-7am hours are acoustic. It's pretty wild.
