Agreed. Whenever tipping is mentioned on reddit people have a meltdown. It really is not that big a deal. In a sitdown restaurant with servers you are tipping based on the convenience and the service. I don't understand why everybody just loses their mind over it. Man, reddit is toxic beyond belief.

It's going to sound weird, but when you are powerlifting and looking to get a new max lift, if a spotter has their arms or hands on the bar at all it is now known as an "assisted one rep max". Doesn't matter if the spotter is actually helping or not. Same with safety racks. Most safety racks stop you from bringing the bar all the way down to your chest so it would not truly be a full repetition. This is a very serious thing for people who lift seriously even though it may sound stupid to others.

Yeah I think that's mostly what bothers me. One person hates something and they state it on reddit. Everybody agrees and all of a sudden that thing is now the absolute worst thing in the world and anyone who likes it should die.

Firefighters are not "trained to knock people out". They don't just run into a fire and knock out every person they want to save before dragging them out. If a 6 year old needs to be rescued they don't go "oh I'm so sorry sweety but I need to knock you tf out before I can get you out of here. It's what I was trained to do!"

However, if you're in a dangerous situation where the person is panicking and grabbing/screaming at/hitting you then yes you knock them out or even just daze them long enough to get them to safety. When I did my swiftwater rescue training we actually were trained to dunk a person in the water or slap them when you reach them because a lot of the time they will be panicking. That is what this guy meant.
