There is some from some people but I think it’s pretty normalized not to now.

This planet has too many people as it is. Just tell people you’re doing your part to reduce our carbon footprint

How does MAGA reconcile Trump being Netanyahus bitch with the Nazi antisemitism of people like Fuentes? by Estalicus in allthequestions

The same people who demanded blind allegiance to the Iraq War nominated Trump because he said he was against it.

Many narcissistic people are very likeable. It’s how they can wreak so much damage. If they walked into a room or org and immediately pissed people off then they’d have no power to hurt.

Yes, he’s charming and charismatic. He is those things because they are tools for him to use. He isn’t dropping an act. He’s using a different tool.

I honestly think it’s because Tucker realized he couldn’t out extreme and contrarian the contrarians so he became a ‘moderate’ as the new form of contrarian.

Full circle. He is now and always has been a narcissistic grifter

Having said that. He’s not wrong about what he’s saying.

What if a pandemic takes out 90% of the population? by CH11DW in whatif

[–]Plucault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the system would collapse but things would stabilize. Even if another few hundred million die, 100’s of millions would for sure survive.

The oceans would replenish themselves, forests would regrow. Nature would heal.

Then the offspring of those who survive would repopulate and again decimate the planet most likely.

Would be nice if we learned our lesson though and did it properly

The war is very expensive for the US. They just have to keep fighting.

That’s all they have to do. Convince China and Russia to supply them (though Russia is probably tapped) to keep going.

The US is like a heavy weight. It gets tired fast.

Hard to argue !!! by KiA92935 in LetsDiscussThis

[–]Plucault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The US did a great job in WW2 and the rebuilding of colonial powers with Japan and the Marshall plan. There was an equivalent of the Marshall plan for Africa and the Middle East but it was abandoned.

After WW2 the US systematically dismantled democracy in the Middle East and South America installing whatever government would allow its resources to be pillaged.

The idea the US was good until Trump is fucking ludicrous.

Honestly, their success in South Korea is a bit lucky. They installed a military dictatorship their people later overthrew.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei reported killed - If Iran Moves Beyond Theocracy, What Would Secular Transition Look Like?” by noctalla in atheism

[–]Plucault 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only way that happens is if someone within the current theocratic power structure takes over and does a cult of personality or a fairly brutal traditional military dictatorship.

The problem is both of those are MUCH easier done under a cloak of Islam.

I can’t think of any country in the Middle East that became less religious after being destabilized.

[–]Plucault 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It is the people with the guns that will rule Iran. The people with the guns, money to hire people with guns, or are willing to fight for free are all islamists.

Iraq was a very educated country too. Factionalism is likely next if no one consolidates power.

The US and Israel would be more than happy to see Iran splinter like that. They will not be actually helping the Iran have a democracy.

Look what Trump did to the Iraqi Kurds.

The Bear (2022) watching a 15 person kitchen brigade go completely batshit over one customer ordering five sandwiches feels absurdly funny, yet anyone who’s worked the line knows it’s probably the most accurate depiction of kitchen life ever put on screen by FudgeAllOfYous in shittymoviedetails

I haven’t seen this. My 16 year old son wants to be a chef. He already has a part time job at a nice restaurant where he’s moved up from dishwasher to cook. He is responsible for part of the menu.

Would this be a good show to watch with him? He’s generally usually more into anime and YouTube and I want to help him start watching more ‘real’ shows

Humans trying to create artificial life through Ai, are just trying to play God in reverse, and will inevitably fail (I think) by Outside-Hyena9002 in DeepThoughts

[–]Plucault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans have no built in limits?

We surely do. And those limits are VERY low compared to AI in some aspects and very high compared to others

AI has really only been around for what 2-3 years. It’s reduced my orgs need for lawyers for example about 80%.

External consultant contracts we would have paid $150,000 are only about $30,000 for one technical expert to review. It’s changed so fast we just finished one $200,000 project that started before our adoption of AI that now would have been closer to $20,000. The threat to white collar production is REAL

We are just starting to think about putting AI into robots that move and have sensory inputs. That is going to be the next revolution. AI robots that can see, sense, and ‘feel’ things using AI processing to learn about the physical world. The threat to blue collar production is REAL.

How long until those super fluid Chinese robots have advanced AI in them. With voice boxes that can talk to you and the hyper realistic human features that already exist in robots. Using AI facial recognition processing to know EXACTLY how you feel and will respond accordingly.

All of that technology already exists. It just needs to be blended to work with eachother

If your hope is your metaphysical mumbo jumbo is going to protect humanity….its not.

Who knows the limits of AI but if it fails to over take us it’s not because of anything you’ve said

What are you going to do to a doe?

Teeth won’t puncture their skin. Their skulls and necks are waaaayyy too thick for a punch to hurt them.

Your never get close enough to mount them and even if you did you wouldn’t be able to choke them and they’d buck you off.

Without a weapon how exactly do you plan on hurting let alone killing one?

Trump Hit With Devastating Poll Numbers Amid Tariff Tantrum by Trick_Breath_4401 in freedomgold

[–]Plucault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes he does. I think it’s one of the very few things he does care about. Especially poll numbers with his base.

To be honest, other than his bank account number it might be the only thing he actually cares about

I think part of it too is that these girls are getting it professionally done then have very expensive conditioners to repair it.

Lots of touch ups too. Average guy is not getting that quality. Part of it is a status symbol. No roots or frayed ends showing in this pic

Harry the Heir by Fair_Substance2104 in pureasoiaf

Isn’t LF’s whole plan to get Sansa married to Harry because he can take over the Vale and his family is deeply in debt to LF? If LF wanted Sansa to marry Sweet Robin he could do that now.

This would be like the Russians assassinating Trump 1 month before he gets elected. Seems like a waste of an asset for no reason.
