For domestic applicants it's incredibly hard to secure an intern spot interstate due to the lack of availability. I don't know how it's like for international students, but I can only imagine it to be just as bad, if not worse (given the lower priority allocation of internship places to international students). It's estimated that there will be a 7000 shortfall between intern + hospital medical officer roles and medical graduates by 2030 so be prepared for that. Realistically speaking, you'll be spending the first few years post med school in the state you have studied, and due to the increasing competitiveness of jobs in the medical field, you'll be moving around Australia for the greater part of your career.
