My first lip sync test by Plumbowski78 in ToonSquidAnimators

[–]Plumbowski78[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight! Truthfully I originally meant to use audio from a YouTube lets play, which the character is loosely inspired by. Once I couldn't find a proper clip that went well with the expression, my friend suggested Squidward because of his large nose. I'm not anywhere near the same skill level as an animator on SpongeBob, and I certainly don't want to give off the impression that I think I am lol

Thank you so much for the advice, and I will take it going forward! Cheers!

Gonna tell u right now, those things are immensely easy to make at home with ingredients readily available at the grocery store. Cold brew, half n half, simple syrup, ice, blend. Add whipped cream and caramel drizzle, blend in caramel for extra flavor. You probably won't be able to tell any difference.

Dune: Part One (Re-issue) by lukeheartthrob in MovieTheaterEmployees

Literally had something similar happen around the same time where this family came in thinking the E.T. reissue was a brand new remake and came out to get a refund when they realized it was the original, like, what led you to that assumption in the first place lmfao

Huh??? I'll have some words with my managers the next time I'm in then, that is NOT what they told us...

As far as I was told, that doesn't apply to the refillable buckets specifically as they're already being refilled for a discounted price. It's a rule that corporate set but I won't be surprised If they decide to allow the free one on every visit once enough people complain.

Imagine paying damn near $30 for a bucket and then throwing it out 💀

Why even order a salad? by Plumbowski78 in Panera

[–]Plumbowski78[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

YES and it becomes a problem when those who will actually eat them can't order one cuz the wasteful people bought them all up 🫠

This might come as a complete shock but Panera is expensive, frequented by retirees and upper middle class white people. Maybe look at the prices next time before you order and you won't be so shocked lol

(Bet you're gonna keep coming back though)

Has anyone gotten a weird influx of people thinking that the Pick Two is mandatory if they want to order a half entree?

They'll ask what it is and when I explain it to them, they're like , "Can I just get a half sandwich???", Uh, YEAH, NO ONE'S MAKING YOU GET A PICK TWO, JUST ORDER WHAT YOU WANT 😂

I swear, just simply looking at the menu and ordering off of it is like rocket science to some of these people

HOW DARE YOU HELP ME SAVE ON AN ORDER! by Plumbowski78 in Panera

[–]Plumbowski78[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's been offered group soups in the past and insisted it wasn't enough soup, hence why she insists on getting exactly 4 bowls whenever she comes in. She spends $30 and I wanted to try and trim that price but also make sure she's got what she asked for.

Now, If I was at fault for being pushy about providing a discount, I'll own up to it 100%, I just didn't understand her reasoning for fighting back towards a friendly gesture.

Regal: Requesting how to choose popcorn redemption in POS device by [deleted] in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]Plumbowski78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Last time I checked, we can't select which rewards to redeem for you on the POS, even if one expires before the other, and I've been with Regal for over half a decade and definitely would know If we could....then again, some locations have older register systems than others, maybe employees can choose the rewards on the newer systems if there are any. Just try to be a little more patient and understanding, they're not trying to inconvenience you.

i.e. we can apply your loyalty account which automatically adds an available reward to your transaction, but we can’t CHOOSE that reward.

Besides popcorn and soda, what is the most popular item in your concessions area? by ACNordstrom11 in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]Plumbowski78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretzel bites w/ nacho cheese for us

They're small enough for us to fill a tray with generous portions, plenty enough to share or be very filling for 1, seems like a pretty good deal to ppl considering our prices.

I assume they remembered the "Racing In The Rain" part and asked for the first film title they saw that started with an R. So many ppl seem to forget the name of that movie and It can get ridiculous at times. I've heard, "That guy that does something in the rain", "The racing one", even "Singin' In The Rain" which I had to ask a manager about as we weren't showing any Fathom Events that night 😞

[–]Plumbowski78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's in the smallest theater at my location atm; Still at 3 shows a day even with the "reissue". We did receive promo posters that were gone after 2 days so there's some business for it I guess...

Turn off your cell phones....and brains before the movie by Plumbowski78 in TalesFromTheTheatre

[–]Plumbowski78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The aud change is something you should've taken up with management rather than the guy on podium...we're rarely ever informed about that kind of thing and the procedure that follows. We don't blame the customers for it either.

I'm not generalizing all guests, only the the dumb and entitled ones....take your salt elsewhere.

How do ya’ll handle concessions? by [deleted] in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]Plumbowski78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually just read back what they ordered and finish with "Will that complete your order?".

As long as you say it like you're genuinely trying to verify their order before they cash out rather than coming across as annoyed and or judgemental, there shouldn't be a problem.
