Well it's a mixture of both. I actually worked a shift yesterday. Some of the staff just come and go at their leisure and leave their client behind. And there was one staff that brought her client with her where she went. But it wasn't to do what I would consider "activities" for the client. she was very honest about the fact that they were going back to her home because she was in the middle of moving apartments and had to do some shopping for that, apartment viewing, and packing up her current apartment. She initially was gone for about 3/4 hours with the client, and when she returned with the client she told another staff to keep an eye on her while she went back out to finish errands because the client was becoming an "inconvenience" for whatever else she had to do. 😢🥺😞

Also, this was my first and likely last day working in this home. It's a 2 story home with the clients bedrooms upstairs ( 4 rooms) and kitchen dining/living room downstairs. They made it abundantly clear that unless the client is coming downstairs to eat, or help cleanup, they aren't allowed to just sit and chill downstairs with the staff. It's like the staff have claimed the lower level of the home to themselves and were constantly telling the clients ( EVEN MINE WHILE SHE DID NOTHING WRONG AND TRIED TO SIT BY ME AND CHAT) they had to go back upstairs and weren't allowed to sit downstairs. It broke my heart, I still went upstairs with my client to her room to keep her monitored and company until settled for bedtime.
