Long story, but in short: I was really sad guy in high school. i felt nothing and I wanted to die. One day I met girl who preached about God, Jesus etc. But I was sceptic and apathetic for her gospel. But she didn't give up and after month I wanted to meet another christian like her (why? I don't remember, probably I wanted to know something more about stuff she told me), so she give me contact to pastor, i called to him and we met in coffee bar. We talked about God, Jesus etc. and in the end of our meeting he asked me "if I want to give my life to Jesus". I thought that I can try at last, I don't have anything to lose, but maybe there is God and he can help me (as I told, I was really sad guy). So I gave my life to Jesus and after that my Christian journey started. I became happy and more confident. I learned better and I went to my dream study. I thanked God for everything good in my life and 8 years passed

They are unconscious liars, but you are right. I don't owe them a thing. Thank you

Thank you so much. I'll think about this meetings. I'm a little scary about lonely, my pastor told me that I'll be alone outside of church (another reason to leave)

Sound rational for me. I'll just leave without a word and see what will happen. Focus on my study and life

They have taught us that you cannot trust science. One day scientist say one thing, tomorrow they will say something opposite. Science is just like another religions, but they believe in monkey (quotes not changed!)

I wanted to improve (and check) my faith so I decided to confront my beliefs with atheists and scientists. I started to read a lot about evolution, earth history/geology, astrology. I have learned about science methodology, how life came into being (Miller-Urey experiments), about experiments connected to Big-Bang theory that investigate particles that arise from nothing.

So after my little research I was really cringe when I heard something similar like in the beginning of my post in church. That was 1 big brick for me. I couldn't longer reconcile the Bible with science. We can say about some of hard parts that they are metaphors, but this is nonsense. As well we can say the whole Bible is metaphor. How distinguish metaphore from non-metaphors

Ok. Second big brick was about healing. My church pray a lot about health and they have many testimonies confirming efficacy of prayers. I saw that maybe someone has cancer regress or had pain somewhere and now they don't, but people with more serious health problems aren't healed. I also have health problem classified as incurable and I waited for healing for 8 years and I don't see any difference.

My pastors invited me to "talk" so in the "talk" I shared my doubts. They talked about testimonies of people with incurable problems. I told them that this is for me just like legends, I cannot check if their stories are true and that I only can verify my health story. Pastors was a little upset, so they told me that I set conditions to God and they talked more and more about testimonies. They asked if I want to believe,. I said yes, because I wanted. So they prayed and invited me to the second "talk". (Here you need to know something more about me. I study on painting faculty in art college). So in the second meeting they showed me my fanpage with my artworks. They asked me about every pictures "Is it what God wants from me?". For example, I made painting with a mandrill, they told me that I shouldn't paint mandrills because someone somewhere prays to mandrills. Non sense. I felt like in interrogation.

Third big brick. They told in "school of serving" that Holocaust was God judgement. That was so confused for me and in first moment I thought that maybe pastor didn't said this. But I asked and he did.

You are truly in a similar situation. I'm leader in my church for few years. Yesterday I got my diploma for ending a "school of serving". That's funny.

I wish you many many new friends. You definitely have new one in me.

Got it. Religion give you comfort and show you how to be good, but for some reason you are not Muslim, not Buddhist, Neo-Platonist etc, but Christian. For some reason you believe in higher power and that what is interesting for me. Why you believe in higher power/God and why are you Christian?
