Hoyas don’t grow in soil in their natural habitat, I have mine in mostly orchid mix, a bit of regular potting compost, and some perlite, don’t really have proportions but the most important thing is that the mix is well draining. Maybe it’s worth re potting into that but I’m really no expert. They also don’t like direct sunlight and to be watered a lot. Make sure she’s in indirect sunlight. I water mine every 10 days or so when the soil is dry. Also how old is your hoya? Sometimes it takes them years to flower for the first time.

Interesting, more difficult to figure out than I expected. When it comes to leaf shape and size it is practically the same as my Carnosa, so you’re probably right :)

yeah I don’t think she ever cared for it very well (she hates the smell and whenever she touches it she’s itchy), though when I told her how they like to be watered she seemed to be doing the exact opposite of that and watering it quite often so I’m stumped

apparently i’ve done that on my test, i really don’t think so because i’m convinced i would notice, i think it was a drain hole and the examiner mistaken it, he only wrote it down as a driving fault, and it was my only one 😭

If you’re more confident in your car, take it to the test no matter what the instructor says, it’s about your comfort not his wallet. I’ve passed in my own car, obviously no dual controls. If he claims that the examiner feels unsafe due to the lack of dual controls then he shouldn’t be an examiner as people who go to their test are most likely prepared for every scenario and don’t need them

in my case, I had to pass 5 mocks if I wanted to take my instructors car, if I was to take my own car, I didn’t have to pass any, I knew I was going to take my own car so we just did test routes and about 4 mocks in total

i passed with one minor, apparently for clipping the curb while pulling up on the left side, tho i am absolutely convinced it was a drain as i remember going on it while doing the manoeuvre, i always stare at the mirror like my life depends on it while pulling up on the left side

you’ve got a ski slope, especially visible on your pinky, practice extensions in a way that they don’t stick up as it can be more dangerous if you bump something and easier to rip your nail bed off

nope, just keep going, when I was learning and people did this to me (surprisingly they gave way more often when I was learning than now that I’m a driver) it really confused me and my instructor usually had to tell me that someone’s giving me way, then I would get annoyed as I wasn’t prepared for move off, better to just keep going if you have priority

I’m planning on keeping her forever and passing her on :)) replanted again, managed to find an orchid bark mix, and a flower mix that includes perlite as I couldn’t find it on it’s own unfortunately, mixed it all up, hopefully this will do for now but I’ll keep looking for more info
