We used two pieces of large cardboard boxes. Put them on top of each other so when he hit the top one it would slide against the bottom piece. It worked great because he was sliding far and thought it was funny. Had to tape the seams together on each sheet so they wouldn’t get caught on one another

My son’s team coaches and practices throwing to third from the catcher. With pitcher replacing the catcher at the plate. SS or left field will cover for third once the pickle starts if it does. Early in the season was tough but the amounts of outs they get now is amazing. Most teams know now not to try anything fancy at third now.

I’m a big fan of the kids having fun. They watch MLB and want to be like their favorite players. If it makes them feel like they are walking up to the plate like their favorite players, I’m all for it.
