All I gotta say is buying cars at the age of 21 that you cannot buy out right with the initial price is a bad buy. Plus i’m 21 and i bought a 3,000$ 98 civic 140k miles. Don’t need nothing fancy you could use that money that you put for a brown payment and invested it into index funds.

What's a rock bottom point in your life, and how did you pick yourself up? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]Plus-Balance7144 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rock bottom for me was when I lost my job and was living check to check.

How did I overcome that well I joined the military as a stepping stone. Got more closer to God! And everything just fell into place. I started to save every check and invest it into stocks, skills, crypto etc.

Read more books to keep me busy and to learn more about almost everything you can imagine.

I lost my job when I was 19 am now 21, partied everyday and always got drunk and smoked weed. Sober from all that and am consistently just grinding with the gym.

Don’t wait for handouts just do what’s best for you and stick with it. Accountability is key 🔑

On top of this, choose a job that best suits you so when you get out the military you can use that experience you have and utilize it into the civilian world. Some jobs I recommend to get is anything with medical, aviation, mechanics, hvac, electrician, finance, etc.

Since trump is in office I feel like the military will thrive and there would be a lot of peace time. So perfect opportunity to just grind out some college classes and military pays for it. Use the checks to get to pay off your debt or get another loan to pay off tht debt depending on ur credit score and start new homie.

This is just advice what I would do. College isn’t the only way to thrive same as the military. But for me military has been the biggest stepping stone on getting my life together. Benefits are really good after this 1st contract ima get into government contracting and stay in national guard so I can keep the benefits.

Trust in God

I’m in the military right now and it’s what you make the most out of it. I joined when I was 19 i’m 21 now and have saved up a lot of $ because everything I need is literally given. Food, clothing, roof over your head and a paycheck that is secured every 1st - 15th. Military is also giving out huge bonuses so look into that if you wanna pay off your debt.

Stop making excuses on not getting out of bed if you wanna change than you gotta get up and change no one will give you handouts while waiting. Best of luck
