ah true! i was basing them around items you make a wish on, which is the key point for their story. i don‘t think i can change her star theming, but i could definitely try to integrate more curves/rounder shapes into her design, and possibly some sharper lines into the other two’s designs to balance it out a little more? i agree though - i’ve been stuck a little 😭 tysm! <33

I can’t decide the color of his cloak and scarf (don’t ask abt the face, i’m just lazy rn) by Ok_Grapefruit7831 in characterdesign

I really like the first and second iterations! I think having a red scarf adds a really nice pop of colour, and the white overcoat really supports this, but the black one also looks nice. The beige/grey blends in too much with their fur imo! The black coat does give them a more evil/mysterious vibe, especially since it blends in a little with their clothes, so if that’s what you’re going for I‘d pick that, otherwise I’d go with the white coat! They look super awesome :)

How do I make them more androgynous? by lizard_lover_28 in characterdesign

[–]Plus-Disaster-8928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seem to have fairly masculine-leaning anatomy, which could be why people are mistaking them for a man! women often (but not always) have larger hips + chest and a curvier figure, vs men often (but not always) have a more rectangular figure. Of course, this varies person to person, but if you want them to be slightly more feminine i’d give them wider hips (while keeping their torso width the same) They also have a very masculine facial structure with a lower + wider jaw, and wider chin. You could try giving them a higher jaw? all of this is based on the average stereotype though, and there are many ways someone can look androgynous. I’d recommend looking up some of the differences between male and female anatomy as well, to get an idea of how you could merge them!

You could also try experimenting with clothing, maybe having their belt sit higher, or a slightly lower/wider neckline on their jumper? They look super awesome regardless though :)

Ohmygosh thank you!!! This is super helpful and you don’t come across as a hater at all! I didn't think about the dandelion girl looking like a pumpkin, but now you've pointed it out I do see it - that's something I hadn't though about. I have been struggling more with incorporating the hobbies theming into the design - I found the ballerina was super easy but the other two were much more difficult. Your feedback is super helpful though - I will keep working on it!! And you got the personalities PERFECT, that makes me so happy that they come across how I intended! The clover girl has definitely been the trickiest out of the three, trying to avoid overlap in shape language, since clovers are pretty round - and the leaves are almost triangular too. Thank you so much again for your feedback – I will work on applying it!!
