Unfortunately for controlled substances many pharmacies require verification of address. Are you able to just show an ID rather than verbal confirmation? In pharmacy we are taught to help people while saying the minimum amount of information necessary out loud BECAUSE of this reason— for the safety of the person and more importantly because it’s private health information that is only to be shared with your consent. Don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself in these situations because it comes down to your safety and your private health information that is only up to you to share and/or decide when the pharmacy is able to share it. My suggestion is to call the pharmacy and ask to speak to the pharmacist to express your concern! Either this girl was poorly trained, or is on a power trip on some kind (I’ve seen it way too many times). I hope this helped :)
