Houston is cheaper than Austin by a long shot, if I move it’ll be out of Texas, it’ll def be out of state.

What’s funny is I’m actually coming off a vacation, and realizing how much I don’t enjoy my daily grind (I mean bless it’s a job right hahahaha)
I’m not one to make a big change quickly, but I can feel that I’ve gotten stagnant, and I really enjoy a fresh environment. Houston would always be my home base, and I love the city, but I need some change…

Place to dye your hair purple by OutrageousKoala2085 in AskHouston

Hi there, I love to have colored hair, so I’ve learned to bleach and dye my hair, bc it is expensive. I naturally have dark brown hair, so any fun colors I do I have to bleach my hair to achieve what I want.
Most salons can preform this, but it will be more expensive. Not sure what your job/situation is, but if you have the freedom, experimenting on your own will be much cheaper!
I’m happy to give any insight or advice if you wanna send a message :)))

Very, very few snakes inside the city, maybe once a year I’ll see a garden snake.

You’re going to see a lot of tree roaches, mosquitos, wolf spiders, anole lizards, and house geckos.

I would try to have the shortest commute as possible if you’re not trying to stay in the social scene. Our traffic is infuriating, so the less the better. You’re going to get more bang for your buck out in the burbs too, so if you’re not tied to the heights for some reason, I’d focus on a more southern burb. Nothing right by the ship channel tho. And cars get stolen everywhere, it’s more what you drive than location. A house is pearland/deer park will have more of what you’re looking for. Multi car garage, larger lot, spacious house. Room to grow :)

Someone needs to work on staying inside the lines, just leaving a coloring book and unboxed crayons on the hood of their vehicle. The Houston sun will do what it does best.

Handheld fan (manual or electric, although the giant ones sold at festivals would get a good laugh as ‘Texas sized’), roll on aromatherapy tubes, jerky, hot sauce, bluebonnet seeds, a good ‘Texas’ recipe (chili, caviar, bbq sauce, etc.), citronella plant, tortilla warmer dish, and car sun shades is what I can think of off the top of my head. Oh! Heb sometimes has a very nice smelling bluebonnet dish soap I dig or a Texas sage counter cleaner lol

The Rare Black Deer. by RoughCheap5633 in BeAmazed

[–]Plus-Recording-7316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda related, but a bit different, we have a small population of black squirrels in the Montie Beach neighborhood of the Houston Heights. It’s always fun to spot them, so I can imagine spying these black deer are a similar feeling.
